중년여성의 연금술적 변화과정에 대한 모래놀이치료 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 43세의 중년여성이 억압과 내면의 갈등에서 벗어나 모성성을 회복하고 개성화를 통하여 참된 자신의 모습을 깨달아가는 것을 모래놀이치료과정을 통해 확인하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 내담자의 모래놀이 치료 과정에서 드러난 자기 출현과 자기 통합 과정이 Jung의 연금술 변환 과정의 흐름과 연관되어 있음을 이해하는 데 있다. 모래놀이치료 과정은 12개월 동안 매주 1회씩(50분) 총 29회기로 진행하였다. 내담자에게 자기 자신이 수용되고 이해받는다는 느낌을 갖게 하고 스스로를 돌아보게 하였으며, 억압하고 투사해온 부정적인 요소들을 표출할 수 있게 하기 위해 자유롭고 보호된 공간을 제공하였다. 모래놀이치료상담은 융의 연금술의 변환 과정을 토대로 니그레도, 알베도, 루베도의 3단계 과정으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 내담자의 모래상자 안의 연금술 작업은 첫째 그림자의 직면으로 페르소나를 벗고 부정적인 요소들을 대면하였으며, 둘째 정화작업을 통해 아니마, 아니무스를 통합하였고, 셋째 이를 통해 자유롭고 창의적인 자기실현으로 개성화를 시작하였다. 본 연구는 모래놀이치료 과정에서 미성숙한 자아의 죽음, 그림자의 통찰을 통한 고통 그리고 자아 강화로 인한 모성성의 회복과 재탄생의 과정이 중년여성이 개성화를 이루는 여정과 연관됨을 확인할 수 있는 모래놀이치료 사례이다.

영문 초록

This study reveals that a 43-year-old woman, emerging from suppression of feelings and inner conflicts, recovers motherhood and realizes the true self through an individuation process. The purpose of this study is to understand that self-emergence and self-integration processes during sandplay therapy are connected to the flow of Jung's alchemical transformation process. Sandplay therapy was conducted over a total of 29 sessions, 50 minutes per session, on a weekly basis during the period of 12 months. The therapist provided the client with a free, protected space to ensure that the client can feel she is accepted and understood, look back on her previous life, and release her suppressed and projected negative elements out of her mind. The sandplay therapy was analyzed by dividing it into three stages based on Jung's alchemical transformation process: nigredo, albedo, and rubedo. The client's alchemical work in respective sand trays includes the following processes: first, taking off her persona in confrontation with shadows and facing negative elements, second, integrating Anima and Animus through inner purification, third, beginning to engage in individuation through the free, creative self realization. The middle-aged woman in this case study shows a remarkable rebirth of self by recovering motherhood through the death of immature ego, the endurance of pains with an insight into shadows, and self-strengthening. This case study is significant in that it shows a middle-aged woman's individuation process in connection with Jung's alchemical transformation process.
