국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 고등학생의 에너지 소양을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 고등학생 397명을 대상으로 ‘에너지 소양 검사 도구’를 사용해 에너지 지식, 인식과 태도, 행동의 3가지 영역을 조사했다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘에너지에 대한 지식’의 평균 정답률은 63.3%로 상대적으로 높은 수준의 지식을 나타냈으나, 에너지 단위 및 에너지원 생성에 대한 이해에 어려움이 있었다. 둘째, ‘에너지에 대한 인식과 태도’는 전반적으로 긍정적이었는데, 에너지 관련 정책에 대한 동의도가 높았고, 문제 해결에 참여하려는 의지도 높았다. 셋째, ‘에너지 관련 행동’에서 학생들은 일상생활에서 적극적으로 참여하고 있으나 에너지 사용에 대한 경제적 관점이 부족하였다. 넷째, 에너지 소양의 세 영역 간 상관관계 분석에서는 인식과 태도, 행동 사이에서는 높은 상관관계를 보였으나, 지식과는 낮은 상관관계를 보였다. 다섯째, 우리나라 고등학생의 에너지 소양은 지식과 행동 영역에서는 다른 나라 학생보다 높은 수준이었고, 인식과 태도 영역에서는 낮은 수준이었다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 경제적 관점이 고려된 에너지 교육의 필요성, 에너지에 대한 인식과 태도 교육의 중요성 등을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the energy literacy of high school students in South Korea. In all, 397 high school students participated, using the “Energy Literacy Assessment Tool,” which examines three domains: energy knowledge, perceptions and attitudes, and behaviors. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average rate of correct responses for energy knowledge was 63.3%, which indicates a relatively high level of knowledge, although there were difficulties in understanding the meaning of energy units and how energy sources are generated. Second, energy perceptions and attitudes were generally positive, with high levels of agreement with respect to energy-related policies and a strong willingness to participate in problem-solving with respect to energy. Third, in terms of energy-related behaviors, students were actively engaged in daily practices but lacked an economic perspective for energy usage. Fourth, correlation analysis among the three domains of energy literacy indicated a high degree of correlation between perceptions on the one hand and attitudes and behaviors on the other, but a low correlation with knowledge. Fifth, the energy literacy of Korean high school students was greater than that of students in other countries in the areas of knowledge and behavior but was lower in the areas of perception and attitude. The results of this study indicate the need for energy education incorporating economic perspectives and emphasizing the importance of educating students concerning energy perceptions and attitudes.
