국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학생들의 자아존중감과 협동심 간의 관계에 부모관계와 교사관계의 매개효과와 성별의 차이를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2018년 한국 아동·청소년 패널조사의 중학교 1학년 2,590명(남학생 1,405, 여학생 1,185)을 대상으로 자아존중감, 부모관계, 교사관계, 협동심에 대한 구조적 관계를 밝히고, 다집단 분석을 통한 성차를 검증하였다. 연구결과 자아존중감은 협동심에 직접적인 영향을 주며, 자아존중감과 협동심 간에 부모관계와 교사관계의 매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 이는 자아존중감이 청소년의 협동심에 직접적인 영향을 주고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 부모관계와 교사관계를 통해 간접적인 영향이 있음을 의미한다. 또한 부모관계보다 교사관계의 매개효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 다집단분석을 통해 살펴본 성별 간 경로 차이는 자아존중감이 협동심에 미치는 영향에서만 유의하게 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 자아존중감이 협동심에 미치는 영향에서 부모관계, 교사관계의 매개효과와 성별 간 차이에 대해 논의 및 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of the relationship between early adolescents and their parents; the relationship between early adolescents and their teachers; and gender differences on the association between self-esteem and cooperation of middle school students. Structural relationships among self-esteem, parental relationship, teacher relationship, and cooperation were revealed using 2,590 first-year middle school students’ (1,405 male students, 1,185 female students) responses from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey, 2018. Multi-group analysis was used to analyze gender differences. Results showed self-esteem’s direct effect on cooperation and the mediating effects of parental relationship and teacher relationship between self-esteem and cooperation. Self-esteem not only has a direct effect on the cooperation of early adolescents, but also has an indirect effect through parental relationship and teacher relationship. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the mediating effect of teacher relationship was greater than parental relationship. Lastly, gender differences were identified only in the effect of self-esteem on cooperation. Based on these results, implications and suggestions were made regarding the mediating effects of parental relationship,teacher relationship, and gender differences in the effects of early adolescents self-esteem on cooperation.
