중년남성의 청소년 자녀 양육을 통한 자기성장 경험 질적 메타분석

국문 초록

최근까지 이루어진 중년 관련 연구는 주로 중년여성 혹은 중년남녀에 관한 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 이러한 연구 현황 하에 본 연구는 중년남성을 연구대상으로 하였고 특히 현재 연구가 전무한 중년남성의 청소년 자녀양육과 그 과정 속에서 변화하는 연구대상의 자기성장에 주목하였다. 그리하여 본 연구는 중년남성의 자녀양육 그리고 그 과정에서 일어나는 자기성장의 요인과 경험의 준거를 객관적으로 분류하고 설정함에 그 목적을 두었다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구는 질적 메타분석을 적용하였으며 중년의 특성에 ‘통합적 관점’을 수용하여 ‘전환의 중년’으로 규정하였다. 연구 결과, 자녀와의 친밀감 및 소통의 정도가 중년남성의 정서 변화 및 자기성장에 큰 영향을 끼치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 중년남성의 경우 자녀 양육을 통해 삶의 의미를 찾고, 자기 변화를 이루며, 나아가 자기 성장 경험을 한다는 분석 결과를 도출하였다. 결론적으로 중년남성의 위기 전환점에서 가장 중요한 것은 자녀와 친밀감 증진 및 타인과의 대인관계 등이 자기성장과 자기인식에 긍정적 변화로의 성장을 도모한다는 것이다. 본 연구의 함의 및 제언은, 한국 중년남성들이 성리학적 권위주의 의식에서 벗어나 자녀를 객관적 타자로 인식하고 그 타자를 통해 자기반성과 성찰을 도모해야 한다는 것이며 이러한 함의를 질적 메타분석으로 분류하고 규명하는 데 있다. 또한 자녀와 함께 새로운 시대를 살아감에 있어 자신이 살아온 시대와는 다른 코페르니쿠스적 사고의 전환, 즉 구(舊)시대적 사고의 패러다임을 바꾸는 자기성찰 시도를 부단히 하여야 한다는 것을 제언함에 있다.

영문 초록

Until recently, middle-aged studies have mainly focused on middle-aged women or middle-aged men and women. Under the current situation of these studies, This study focused on middle-aged men, especially the adolescent child-rearing of middle-aged men who currently have no research and the self-growth of research subjects that change in the process. Thus, the purpose of this study was to objectively classify and establish the factors and experiences of self-growth occurring in the process and child rearing of middle-aged men. In order to achieve this purpose, this study applied qualitative meta-analysis and defined it as ‘middle-aged of transition’ by embracing ‘integrated perspective’ on the characteristics of middleaged people. The study found that the degree of intimacy and communication with children had a significant impact on the emotional changes and self-growth of middle-aged men. In addition, the analysis results were derived that middle-aged men find meaning of life through child rearing, make self-change, and further experience self-growth. In conclusion, the most important thing at the turning point of the crisis for middle-aged men is that the promotion of intimacy with their children and interpersonal relationships with others promote growth toward positive changes in self-growth and self-awareness. The implications and suggestions of this study are that middle-aged Korean men should break away from the sense of Neo-Confucian authoritarianism and recognize their children as objective hitters and seek self-reflection and reflection through others, and classify these implications as qualitative meta-analysis. This study also suggests that in living a new era with his children, middle-anged men must constantly attempt to reflect on himself, changing the paradigm of old-time thinking, a shift in Copernican thinking that is different from the one he has lived in.
