이 연구는 강기사(姜夔詞)의 정서 표현 방식을 분석함으로써 그의 독창적인 미학을 탐구한 것이다. 먼저 강기는 매화, 연꽃, 귀뚜라미와 같은 구체적인 사물을 매개로 자신의 감정을 우회적으로 투영하여, 직접적으로 드러내지 않으면서도, 깊고 다층적인 정서의 세계를 형상화하였다. 다음으로 그는 여백과 침묵이라는 표현 기법을 능숙하게 구사하여, 발화되지 않은 공간 속에 더욱 농밀하고 풍부한 감정을 담아내는 ‘비어 있음의 미학’을 완성하였다. 또한 독특한 서문 장치를 적극적으로 활용함으로써, 본문에 앞서 작품의 정서를 서서히 예열하고 감정의 진폭을 자연스럽게 확장하는 전략을 펼쳤다. 결국 강기사는 단순한 공허함이나 모호함이 아니라, 의도적으로 ‘한 겹 가려진’ 표현 속에서 감정을 정제하고 승화시키는 치밀한 미학적 전략을 구사하였음을 알 수 있다. 그는 고통과 상실을 회피하거나 미화하지 않고, 오히려 자신만의 절제된 언어로 이를 재구성함으로써 시대와 공간을 초월하는 감동과 울림을 창출하였다.

영문 초록

This study explores the unique aesthetic of Jiang Kui’s (姜夔) poetry through a detailed analysis of his emotional expression techniques. Jiang Kui employs tangible images such as plum blossoms, lotus flowers, and crickets to indirectly project his emotions, thereby creating deep and multilayered emotional landscapes without explicit articulation. He skillfully utilizes spatial voids and silence as expressive tools, developing an aesthetic of “emptiness” that intensifies the unspoken feelings within his works. Additionally, Jiang Kui’s distinctive use of prologues serves to gradually prime the emotional tone prior to the main text, naturally expanding the emotional scope and resonance. Ultimately, Jiang Kui’s poetry demonstrates a deliberate and refined aesthetic approach, wherein emotions are carefully distilled and elevated beneath subtle and layered expression. By neither evading nor idealizing pain and loss, he reconstructs these experiences with his unique poetic language, producing a timeless emotional impact. Jiang Kui’s works go beyond their historical context as representative Southern Song poetry to embody an “aesthetics of reticence,” continuing to inspire profound reflection and emotional engagement among contemporary readers.
