국문 초록

본 연구는 아르헨티나 탱고의 발전기를 주도한 카를로스 가르델과 알프레도 레 페라의 협업 작품에 관한 내용이다. 이들은 각각 작곡가와 작사가로 만나 약 3년의 기간 동안 40편이 넘는 괄목할 만한 작품들을 남기고 비행기 사고로 동반 사망하였다. 이들은 해학성과 극성을 바탕으로 한 여러 ‘탱고 칸시온(tango cancion)’을 통해 탱고의 진화사에 큰 영향을 끼쳤으며, 아르헨티나 음악의 지역성을 허물고 세계화를 촉진시켰다. 본 연구는 아르헨티나 탱고의 연대기와 더불어, 가르델과 레 페라의 동반 활동과 협업 작품의 분류, 분석을 통해 학술적 관점으로서 이들의 협업 내용과 의미를 고찰하고자 했다. 그 방법으로 협업 작품들을 ‘단독’과 ‘협력’으로 나누어 분류하고, 분석의 틀을 ‘음악활동’과 ‘영화활동’으로 구분함으로써, 저작물들의 전반적인 음악적 특성과 영화 장르와의 접목 과정 및 협업 활동에 관한 통합적인 지식을 축적할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study examines the collaborative works of Carlos Gardel and Alfredo Le Pera, who spearheaded the developmental period of Argentine tango. As composer and lyricist, they created more than 40 remarkable works over a span of approximately three years before both tragically died in a plane crash. Through numerous tango canción characterized by humor and theatricality, they had a profound impact on the evolution of tango, breaking down the regional boundaries of Argentine music and promoting its globalization. This research explores the chronology of Argentine tango and, through the classification and analysis of Gardel and Le Pera’s joint activities and collaborative works, seeks to provide an academic perspective on the content and significance of their partnership. Methodologically, their works were categorized as “solo” and “collaborative,” and the analytical framework was divided into “musical activities” and “cinematic activities,” enabling the accumulation of comprehensive knowledge regarding the overall musical characteristics of their works, the integration with film genres, and the nature of their collaborative efforts.
