국문 초록

본 연구는 예비교사교육에서 수학 성장 마인드셋과 문제해결 프로그램과의 통합 가능성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 대학 강좌에서 운영가능한 수학 성장마인드셋 기반 문제해결 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램은 실수/실패 관련 활동 2개와 수학과제 10개로 구성되었으며, 과제 해결 이후 문제해결 과정을 반성하며 작성할 배움일지도 개발하였다. 프로그램은 사범대학교 수학교육과 수학교수법 강좌에서 총 6주간 22명의 예비교사들을 대상으로 적용되었으며, 프로그램 적용결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램은 예비교사들로 하여금 문제해결 능력을 다양한 관점으로 인식시키는데 도움을 주었다. 둘째, 프로그램은 예비교사들의 성장 마인드셋을 지원하고 함양하는데 도움을 주었다. 학생들은 여러 항목 중 특히 ‘끈기와 노력’의 가치를 가장 높게 평가하였다. 셋째, 프로그램은 예비교사들의 실수와 실패에 대한 대처 능력 함양에 도움을 주었다. 학생들은 실수 실패에 대한 긍정적 관점을 유지하였으며, 타인의 실수/실패에 대해 다양한 방식의 피드백을 개발해 나가는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study explored the possibility of integrating a growth mindset in mathematics with problem-solving programs in pre-service teacher education. To this end, a problem-solving program based on a mathematical growth mindset was developed for use in university-level courses. The program consisted of two activities related to mistakes and failures, and ten mathematical tasks. Additionally, a learning journal was designed for participants to reflect on their problem-solving processes after completing each task. The program was implemented over six weeks in a mathematics teaching methods course for 22 pre-service teachers majoring in mathematics education at a college of education. The results of the program implementation are as follows: First, the program helped pre-service teachers recognize problem-solving abilities from multiple perspectives. Second, it supported and enhanced the development of a growth mindset among the participants. Among various components, the value of “perseverance and effort” was rated the highest by the students. Third, the program contributed to improving the participants’ ability to cope with mistakes and failures. The students maintained a positive perspective on mistakes and failures and developed various forms of feedback in response to the mistakes and failures of others.
