미술교육에서 개념 기반 학습의 의의와 실천 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 지각, 기억, 상상, 추리 등 모든 사고의 기본이 되는 개념적 사고를통해 앎을 삶과 연결하고, 주체성과 메타인지를 강화할 수 있는 개념 기반 학습을미술교육에 적용하여 그 의의와 실천 방안을 제안한다. 이를 위해 개념 기반 학습의이론적 토대를 고찰하고, 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정과의 연계성을 분석하여 미술교육에서의 개념 기반 학습 실천의 정당성을 확보하였다. 미술교육에서 ‘개념’은학습자의 앎과 삶을 연결하고, 메타인지를 촉진하고, 통합적이고 맥락적 이해와 개인과공동체를 잇는 관계와 연결을 중시하며, 비판적 사고를 기를 수 있는 핵심 기제이다. 이에, 개념 기반 학습을 통해 인간을 지적, 정서적, 사회적, 신체적 발달을 분리하지않고 총체적인 존재로 기르고자 하는 홀리스틱 교육의 실천을 가능하게 할 수 있음을주장한다. 이러한 의의를 바탕으로, 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정에서 제시한 미적체험, 표현, 감상의 각 영역별 ‘핵심 아이디어’와 성취기준을 적용하여 ‘나-우리- 세상’으로 연결되는 홀리스틱 교육으로 확장할 수 있는 개념 기반 미술 교수·학습을학년 수준에 따른 발달 단계에 따라 설계 방안을 제시한다. 또한, ‘관계’라는 개념적렌즈를 활용한 초등학교 고학년 수준의 수업 모형과 평가 방안을 하나의 예시로제안한다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 미술교육에서 개념 기반 학습은 ‘미적 체험-감상- 표현-성찰’의 순환적 구조를 통해 미술과 교육과정의 핵심 역량을 함양과 홀리스틱교육으로서 삶 속에서 전이 가능한 통합적 사고를 촉진하고 개인과 공동체가 긴밀히연결되어 유기적 관계를 지향하는 미술교육의 가치를 더욱 공고히 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study proposes the significance and practical implementation of applying concept-based learning to art education. It connects knowledge to life through conceptual thinking—the foundation of all thought processes including perception, memory, imagination, and reasoning—while strengthening subjectivity and metacognition. To this end, it examines the theoretical foundations of concept-based learning and analyzes its connection to the 2022 Revised National Art curriculum, thereby establishing the legitimacy of implementing concept-based learning in art education. Thus, concept-based learning enables the practice of holistic education, which aims to nurture human beings as total beings without separating intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development. Building on this significance, this study applies the ‘Key Idea’ emphasizing deep learning within life and the achievement standards for each domain, as presented in the 2022 Revised National Art Curriculum. Through this research, it is demonstrated that concept-based learning in art education can solidify the value of art education. This is achieved by fostering the core competencies of the art curriculum through the cyclical structure of ‘aesthetic experience-appreciation-expression-reflection,’ promoting integrated thinking that understands oneself and the world as holistic education, and aiming for organic relationships where individuals and communities are closely connected.
