외국인 밀집지역에서의 외국인 갈등이 범죄피해 두려움에 미치는 영향: 지역사회 무질서의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

외국인밀집지역이 형성되는 이유는 다양하다. 국제결혼 등을 통한 이주, 외국인 근로자 및 기타난민 등이 특정 지역으로 집중적으로 이동하여 거주하게 되는 경우가 많으며 이것은 경제적, 문화 적, 사회적인 요인들이 상호작용하며 여러 특징을 가진다. 하지만 외국인 밀집지역은 사회경제적으로 취약한 지역일 수 있다. 다양한 문화와 언어가 공존하는 지역에서는 상호 이해와 소통에 어려움이 생길 수 있으며 이러한 갈등은 사회적인 분열과 충돌로 이어질 수 있으며, 사회적 안정을 위협할수 있다. 외국인 밀집지역에서는 범죄율이 상대적으로 높을 수 있으며 경제적 어려움과 사회적 갈등등이 범죄를 부추길 수 있고, 이로 인하여 범죄피해에 대한 두려움이 발생한다. 이 연구에서는 외국인밀집지역에서의 외국인 갈등이 범죄피해 두려움에 미치는 영향과 관련하여그 영향요인에 대해 살펴보고 이에 대한 정책적 제언을 하고자 한다. 특히, 지역사회 무질서에 대한 매개 효과를 실증적으로 검증해보고자 한다. 연구결과 외국인 밀집지역에서 외국인 갈등이 지역사회무질서로 가는 회귀모형(F=86.893, p<.001) 과 외국인 갈등 및 지역사회무질서가 범죄피해두려움으로 가는 회귀모형(F=86.921, p<.001) 모두 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났으며, 회귀모형의 설명력은 외국인 갈등과 지역사회무질서로 가는 회귀모 형은 31.3%(수정된 R 제곱은 9.8%), 외국인 갈등 및 지역사회무질서가 범죄피해두려움으로 가는 회귀모형은 42.3%(수정된 R 제곱은 17.9%)로 나타났다. 즉 외국인 갈등이 높을수록 지역사회 무질서가 높아지고 지역사회 무질서도 역시 범죄피해 두려움에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 이에 대한 정책적 제안을 하고자 한다.

영문 초록

There are various reasons why foreigners are formed. Migrants through international marriages, foreign workers, and other refugees often move to a specific area and live there, which is characterized by interaction of economic, cultural, and social factors. However, areas where foreigners are concentrated may be socially and economically vulnerable. In areas where various cultures and languages coexist, mutual understanding and communication can be difficult, and these conflicts can lead to social division and conflict and threaten social stability. In areas where foreigners are concentrated, the crime rate may be relatively high, and economic difficulties and social conflicts can encourage crime, which leads to fear of criminal damage. In this study, we would like to examine the influencing factors in relation to the impact of foreign conflicts on the fear of crime damage in areas where foreigners are concentrated and make policy suggestions. In particular, we would like to empirically verify the mediating effect on community disorder. As a result of the study, a regression model in which foreign conflicts go to community disorder in areas where foreigners are concentrated (F=86.893, p<).001) and a regression model in which foreign conflict and community disorder lead to fear of crime damage (F=86.921, p<.001) All of them were statistically significant, with 31.3% of the regression model going to community disorder in foreign conflicts (9.8% of the revised R square), and 42.3% of the regression model going to fear of criminal damage (the revised R square is 17.9%). In other words, the higher the foreign conflict, the higher the community disorder, and the greater the community disorder, which also has a significant impact on the fear of crime damage, and I would like to make a policy proposal.
