예천 지역의 창의(倡義) 격문(檄文)과 진성이씨 가문의 창의 활동 - 임진왜란·무신란 시기를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 임진왜란·무신란 시기에 이루어진 예천 지역의 창의(倡義) 활동과 격문(檄文)을 비교 고찰한 것이다. 2장에서는 『난중잡록』·『임진일기』·『진사일기』·『창의록』을 통해 임진왜란 시기 예천 지역 의병의 활동을 살피고, 격문을 통해 사류(士類)의 동질성과 대결집이 창의의 핵심 논리로 설정되었음을 고찰하였다. 3장에서는 『무신창의록』을 통해 무신란 시기 예천 지역 의병의 활동을 살피고, 격문을 통해 예천 지역의 충의(忠義)와 이질성이 창의의 핵심 논리로 설정되었음을 확인하였다. 아울러 임진왜란기의 창의 경험이 신속한 거병을 가능하게 한 바탕이 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 4장에서는 예천 지역 진성이씨 가문이 학연·지연·혈연·혼연의 4대 축을 매개로 인적 네트워크를 형성하여, 예안·안동 등 인근 지역 인사들과 직접 소통하며 창의 활동을 전개하였음을 고찰하였다. 예천 지역의 창의 기록과 격문을 통해, 전쟁의 성격에 따라 창의의 논리가 달라지며, 창의 경험이 후대의 창의를 가속화시킨다는 사실을 확인하였다. 또한 가문의 인적 인프라가 지역적 창의 활동을 주도하는 원동력이 된다는 점도 알게 되었다. 본 연구를 필두로 향후에는 창의 격문을 상호 비교하고 통시적으로 고찰하는 연구가 이루어져, 우리나라의 ‘창의의 전통’이 입체적·실증적으로 규명될 수 있기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This study compares and examines the uprising of the righteous army and war manifestos in the Yecheon region during the Imjin War and the Musin Rebellion. In Chapter 2, I examined the uprising and activities of the righteous army in the Yecheon region during the Imjin War through 『NanJungJabRok(亂中雜錄)』, 『Imjin Diary(壬辰日記)』, 『Jinsa Diary(辰巳日記)』 and 『Changuirok(倡義錄)』, and I confirmed that the homogeneity and great unity of many kind of Sa(士) were established as the core logic of the uprising of the righteous army through the declaration of war. In Chapter 3, I looked at the activities of the righteous army in the Yecheon region during the Musin Rebellion period through the 『Musin Changuirok(戊申倡義錄)』, and through the declaration of war, I learned that the loyalty and heterogeneity of the Yecheon region were set as the core logic of the uprising of the righteous army. In Chapter 4, I examined the Jinsung(眞城) Lee Family formed interpersonal networks centered on four axes: school ties, regional ties, blood ties, and marriage ties, and through this axes, they were able to communicate directly with people in nearby areas such as Yean and Andong and carry out the activities of the righteous army. After examining the records of the uprising of the righteous army and the declaration of war in the Yecheon region, I realized that the logic of the uprising of the righteous army changes depending on the nature of the war, and that experiences of the uprising of the righteous army accelerate the uprising of the righteous army of later generations. I also able to learned that the human infrastructure of some family is the driving force behind local militia uprisings. I hope that, starting with this study, future studies will be conducted to compare and examine the declarations of war in a diachronic manner, so that our country’s ‘tradition of the uprising of the righteous army’ can be elucidated in a three-dimensional and empirical manner.
