Implication of comparsion on the control theories and feminist theories influenced by the social, economic, and political contexts

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 1960년대의 사회적·경제적·정치적 맥락이 통제이론과 페미니즘이론의 발전에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 살펴보았 다. 또한 두 이론의 정책적 함의와 함께 사회적·경제적·정치적 맥락에서 두 이론의 차이점이 주는 시사점을 논의했다. 이를 위서 이 연구는 초기 통제이론, Travis Hirschi의 사회적유대이론과 자기통제이론을 살펴보고, 통제이론의 마지막에 권력통제이론, 통제균형이론, 차등강압 론과 같은 최근의 통제이론에 대해서 논의했다. 또한 페미니즘이론과 관련해서 페미니즘이론과 젠더 범 죄학의 초기 및 현대적 관점을 논의했다. 이 연구는 학술서적 및 연구결과의 분석을 통한 문헌연구방법으로 수행되었다. 연구결 과, 통제이론은 주로 일탈을 방지하고 사회 질서를 유지하는 메커니즘에 초점을 맞추는 반면, 페미니스트이론은 특히 여성에게 영향을 미치는 체계적 불평등을 이해하고 해체하는데 집중했다. 또한 통제이론은 사회구조의 질서를 유지하는 수단으로 보는 반 면, 페미니스트 이론은 이러한 구조가 성 불평등을 영속시킨다고 비판한다. 정치적 맥락에서 통제이론은 법과 질서에 대한 보수 적 접근 방식과 일치하는 반면, 페미니스트이론은 성 평등과 사회 정의를 달성하기 위한 진보적 개혁을 지지한다. 경제적 맥락 에서 두 이론 모두 경제 상황의 영향을 인정하지만, 통제이론은 경제적 안정을 사회적 결속력과 연결하는 반면, 페미니스트이론 은 경제 시스템이 어떻게 성 불평등을 영속시킬 수 있는지 강조하는 차이점이 있다. 끝으로 이 연구의 한계와 향후 관련 연구를 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The current paper compared how social, economic, and political contexts the 1960s influenced the development of two theoretical perspectives: control theories and feminist theories and discussed the policy implications along with the implications of comparing the two theories, influenced by social, economic, and political contexts. To do this work, this paper explored the thinking of early control theories, and Travis Hirshi’s social bond theory and self-control theory. At the end of the review of control theories, this paper covered some more recent variants of control theory: power-control theory; control balance theory; differential coercion theory. For reviews of feminist theories, this paper explored the early and contemporary perspectives of feminist theories and gendering criminology. This study was conducted using a literature review method through analysis of academic matirials and research results. The results indicate that control theories primarily focuse on mechanisms to prevent deviance and maintain social order, while feminist theories focuse on understanding and dismantling systemic inequalities that particularly affect women. And while control theories see social structures as a means of maintaining order, feminist theories criticize these structures for perpetuating gender inequality. In a political context, control theories are consistent with conservative approaches to law and order, while feminist theories support progressive reforms to achieve gender equality and social justice. In economic terms, both theories acknowledge the influence of economic conditions, but control theories link economic stability to social cohesion, while feminist theories emphasize how economic systems can perpetuate gender inequality. Finally, the limitations of this study and implications for future related research are discussed.
