국문 초록

이 논문은 한국 진보신학의 동향과 그 과제를 개론적으로 서술한 것이다. ‘진보신학’이라는 명칭은 한국의 교계나 신학계에서 ‘보수신학’이라는 표현에 대비하여 사용하는 호칭을 일컫는데 다음 같은 경향성을 공통적으로 띤다: (i) 세계 신학계의 비평적 성경연구 방법의 수용(ii) 복음과 상황과의 변증법적 관계 (iii) 세계교회협의회의 에큐메니칼신학운동 참여 (iv) 토착적 한국신학 형성추구 (v) 십자군의 영성을 지양한 십자가의 영성을 추구함. 오늘날 한국 신학계의 진보적 신학운동은 다섯 가지 신학써클을 통하여 전개된다: (i) 통전적 조정신학 운동 (ii) 민중지향적 사회-정치신학 운동 (iii) 종교-문화신학 운동 (iv) 여성신학 운동 (v) 생태학적 자연신학 운동. 논문에서는 진보신학의 현황과 미래과제를 살펴보았는데, 내일의 과제들은 진보신학에 걸맞는 교회론의 강화, 진보신학운동의 대중화, 21세기 지식인들이 고백하는 하나님론의 새로운 정립, 그리고 종교개혁 정신의 근본적 재성찰, 그리고 세계신학계에 공헌해야 할 동아시아 영성 신학 정립으로 보았다.

영문 초록

This essay is a bird’s eye view of Korean Progressive Theology, which is a common title in contrast to Korean Conservative Theology. In a broad sense Progressive Theology in Korea shows some marked trends of doing theology such as acceptance of biblical criticism , dialectical method between Gospel and situation, commitment to the ecumenical movement of WCC through investigation into indigenous theology, and pursuit for the spirituality of crucifixion. Making a general survey of Progressive Theology in Korea, this essay classifies Progressive Theology of Korea into five large groups: (i) theology of modulation (ii) Minjung-oriented socio-political theology (iii) indigenous religio-cultural theology (iv) feminist theology (v) eco-theology of nature. Some specific characteristics and tendencies of each theological movement are described comprehensively. At the end of this essay, the urgent tasks of Progressive Theology for today as well as future are suggested to theologians of five groups above mentioned: formation for ecclesiology corresponding to the post-modern world, theological communication to win public support, proposal of a new doctrine of God overcoming that of a supernatural God of orthodox Protestants, and development of a new Christian spirituality from fertile East-Asian spiritual soil.
