국문 초록

이 연구는 안병무 탄생 100주년을 헤아리며, 그의 신학의 미래적 가능성과 전지구적 의의를 예수 그리스도의 영이라는 신학적 중심축 안에서 조명하고자 한다. 본 논문은 안병무가 유년기부터 겪은 고난과 민중적 삶의 궤적, 그리고 신학적 형성 과정을 면밀히 고찰하며, 그의 실존적이며 역사비평적인 성서 해석이 민중신학의 심층 구조에 어떻게 기여했는지를 추적한다. 특히 마가복음에서 ‘오클로스’(ὄχλος) 개념을 ‘민중’(minjung)으로 번역한 안병무의 신학적 통찰은, 단순한 언어 선택을 넘어 식민과 분단, 독재와 개발 체제를 겪은 한국 민중의 고통을 성서 안에서 해석하고자 했던 그의 신학의 핵심이다. 본 논문은 이러한 민중신학이 단지 특정한 사회운동을 넘어, 고난과 ‘한’(恨)의 복합적 구조를 수용하고 변환하는 치유의 신학이며, 예수 그리스도의 ‘영’을 통해 고난받는 이들과 함께 하나님의 나라를 살아내는 실천적 신학이라는 점을 강조한다. 아울러 본문은 안병무와 서남동, 문동환 등 동시대 신학자들이 여러 고난과 억압 속에서 보여준 신학적 저항과 연대, 그리고 비제도적 공동체 운동의 사례들을 통해, 민중신학의 윤리적·예언자적 차원을 부각시키며, 이 신학이 현대 세계의 포스트권위주의적 맥락에서도 여전히 유효한 비판과 희망의 언어가 될 수 있음을 주장한다. 끝으로, 안병무의 신학은 삼위일체적 사변을 지양하면서도 예수의 왕적-제사장적-예언자적 영의 사역을 중심에 두며, 성령의 정의, 자유, 진리, 평화의 능력을 통한 교회 너머의 학제적·사회적 협력을 가능케 하는 신학으로 열려 있음을 조명하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Marking the centenary of Ahn Byung-Mu’s birth, this paper explores the future viability and global relevance of his theology through the central theological axis of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. It begins by tracing Ahn’s lifelong engagement with suffering, shaped from his early years in colonial Korea through the traumatic experiences of war and dictatorship. By examining the formative trajectory of his existential and historically grounded biblical hermeneutics, the paper demonstrates how these interpretative methods decisively shaped the inner structure of Minjung theology. Ahn’s interpretive decision to translate the Greek term ochlos (ὄχλος) in the Gospel of Mark as minjung was more than a linguistic act; it was a radical theological gesture aimed at reading the suffering of the Korean people—marked by colonization, national division, dictatorship, and developmentalist violence—within the narrative arc of the Gospels. This paper argues that Minjung theology, far from being merely a contextual social theology, is a theology of healing and transformation that embraces the complex structure of han (恨), and lives out the Kingdom of God through the Spirit of the crucified and risen Christ in solidarity with the oppressed. The study further highlights the theological resistance and solidarity of Ahn and his contemporaries—including Suh Nam-Dong and Moon Dong-Hwan—under political oppression, shedding light on their non-institutional experiments in Christian community and witness. In doing so, it emphasizes the ethical and prophetic dimensions of Minjung theology, showing its enduring potential as a language of critique and hope in the face of post-authoritarian crises in the global context. Finally, this paper contends that Ahn’s theology—eschewing speculative trinitarianism while centered on the kingly, priestly, and prophetic Spirit of Jesus offers a pneumatological vision of interdisciplinary and trans-ecclesial engagement grounded in justice, freedom, truth, and peace.
