국문 초록

[연구목적] 이 연구의 목적은 초등교사와 중등교사를 대상으로 작은학교 교육과정 운영 현황과 작은학교 특색 교육과정 도입에 관한 인식을 조사하여 향후 작은학교 교육과정 운영에 대안적 관점을 제시하는 연구에 기초 자료를 제공함에 있다. [연구방법] 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 G 특별자치도에 재직 중인 초등교사 605명과 중등교사 335명을 대상으로 작은학교 교육과정 운영 및 작은학교 특색 교육과정 관련 설문조사를 진행하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 22.0을 사용하여 빈도분석, 교차분석, 독립표본 t-검정(t-test)을 실시하였다. [연구결과] 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초·중등교사의 작은학교 교육과정 인식 수준은 전반적으로 높았으며 작은학교 교육과정 재구성 필요성도 높았다. 둘째, 초·중등교사는 작은학교 내 무학년 교육과정, 작은학교 간 공동 교육과정, 작은학교 간 통합운영학교 등 다양한 방식의 특색 교육과정 논의 필요성에 대체로 동의하고 있었다. 셋째, 작은학교 특색 교육과정 도입 필요성에 관한 초·중등교사의 응답 결과는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. [결론] 첫째, 작은학교 교육과정은 지역과 학교 실정에 맞게 재구성되어야 하며 교사들은 협의체를 구성하여 다양한 의견을 제시해야 한다. 둘째, 교육 당국은 작은학교 특색 교육과정 이해도 확산을 위해 연수 프로그램을 개발·보급해야 한다. 셋째, 작은학교 특색 교육과정 운영 사례는 일반화하여 새로운 교육 전략을 수립하는 자료로 활용되어야 한다.

영문 초록

[Purpose] The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of small school curriculum operation and the perception of introducing a small school-specific curriculum targeting elementary and secondary school teachers. [Methods] A survey was conducted on 605 elementary school teachers and 335 secondary school teachers. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 for frequency analysis, cross-tabulation, independent sample t-test. [Results] The research results are as follows. First, the level of awareness of the small school curriculum among elementary and secondary school teachers was generally high. Second, elementary and secondary school teachers generally agreed on the need for discussion of various types of unique curriculum. Third, the results of elementary and secondary school teachers’ responses regarding the need for introducing a unique curriculum for small schools showed statistically significant differences. [Conclusion] The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the small school curriculum should be reconstructed to fit the local and school conditions, and teachers should form a consultative organization to present diverse opinions. Second, educational authorities should develop and distribute training programs to enhance understanding of the small school unique curriculum. Third, the unique curriculum of small school operations should be generalized and used as data for establishing new educational strategies.
