국문 초록

일본 고대국가론과 왕권론 연구의 경향은 역사학의 연구 영역에서 점차 고고학의 영역으로 확장되 는 경향이다. 그 이유는 국가의 성립 시점보다 국가 형성 과정에 논의의 초점이 맞춰지면서부터 고고 자료가 연구의 중심이 되었기 때문이다. 또 다른 특징은 일국사의 관점에서 벗어나 세계고고학과 비교 고고학적 관점으로 새로운 논의가 매번 제안되고 있는 점인데, 이러한 경향은 동아시아 국가론과 왕권 론의 고고학적 양상을 볼 때 매우 고무적이다. 가까운 일본의 경우 국가형성론이 여전히 중요한 연구 주제로 자리 잡고 있는 것과 달리 한국학계에서는 지난날의 활황을 더 이상 찾아보기 어렵다. 그렇지 만 왕과 국, 그리고 거기서 확장되는 왕권과 국가에 대한 역사학적, 고고학적 논의는 여전히 중요하고 특히 국가론은 오늘날 우리가 살아가는 현대 국가를 이해하는 데에 여전히 통찰력을 제공한다.

영문 초록

Japan's theory of ancient state and royal authority is gradually expanding from the research area of ancient history to the field of archaeology. Although the object and methodology covered by the two are different, the results derived are very interesting. In addition, it is very encouraging in view of the archaeological situation of East Asian state theory and the theory of royal authority that new discussions are proposed every time from the perspective of Japanese history to the perspective of World archaeology and comparative archaeology. In East Asia, the state theory of Marxist history in Japan after the war and the theory of ancient state formation in Korean history in the late 20th century are representative examples. However, this topic does not seem to be of great interest in current Korean ancient history and archaeology. Unlike Japan, which is still an important research topic, it is no longer possible to find a boom in Korean academia in the past. However, historical and archaeological discussions about the king and the country, and the expanding royal authority and the state from it, are still important, and the theory of state, in particular, still provides insight into understanding the modern state in which we live today.
