전문상담교사가 경험한 내담자와의 치료적 관계 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

연구목적 학교에서 근무하는 전문상담교사와 내담자의 치료적 관계를 심층적으로 분석하였다. 특히, 전문상담교사가 직무를 수행하는 과정에서 경험하는 치료적 관계의 의미와 본질적인 구조를 탐구하고자 하였다. 연구방법 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하여 학교에서 최소 1년이상 근무한 경험이 있는 전문상담교사 8명을 대상으로 심층 면담의 방식을 사용하였다. 자료 분석 방법으로는 Giorgi의 분석 절차를 따랐다. 연구결과 자료 분석 결과 5개의 영역, 13개의 범주, 33개의 하위범주를 도출하였다. ‘내담자와의 치료적 관계 형성에 있어 어려움을 겪음’, ‘치료적 관계의 경계가 모호함’, ‘내담자를 둘러싼 사람들과의 특수성’, ‘전문상담교사가 경험한 치료적 관계의 의미’, ‘효과적인 상담을 위한 치료적 관계가 잘 형성됨’으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 전문상담교사와 내담자의 치료적 관계 경험에 대한 본질적 구조를 탐색하고 치료적 관계의 특수성을 밝혔다. 이를 통해 전문상담교사와 내담자의 치료적 관계에 대한 이해를 심화시키고, 학교 현장에서 내담자의 변화와 성장을 돕는 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study deeply analyzed the therapeutic relationship between professional school counselors and their clients in the school settings. Specifically, it aimed to explore the meaning and essential structure of the therapeutic relationships that professional school counselors experience while performing their duties. Methods: The study employed Giorgi's phenomenological research method and involved in-depth interviews with eight professional school counselors who had at least one year of experience working in schools. The data analysis followed Giorgi’s analytical procedure. Results: The analysis resulted in five domains, thirteen categories, and thirty-three subcategories. Findings revealed challenges in forming therapeutic relationships, ambiguity in boundaries, uniqueness in relationships with those around the client, the significance of these relationships, and the successful formation for effective counseling. Conclusion: This study explored the essential structure of the therapeutic relationship experience between professional school counselors and their clients, uncovering the unique aspects of these relationships. It contributes to a deeper understanding of the therapeutic relationship between school counselors and their clients, and the findings can be used as foundational material to support client change and growth in the school context.
