국문 초록

본 연구는 체험 공간으로서의 숲유치원 장소성에 대한 현상학적 경험을 분석하기 위하여, 숲유치원에 재원 중인 유아와 부모의 만족도와 중요도를 IPA기법을 활용하여 조사하고 분석하였다. 서울 소재 숲유치원을 운영하고 있는 대학부속유치원의 3-5세 유아 178명과 부모 129명이 연구에 참여하였다. 연구절차는, FGI(교수, 유아교사)를 통해 16개 장소(자연경관 10문항, 도시경관 6문항)를 선정하여 체험경관지표를 도출한 후, 이를 기초로 유아용/부모용 설문지를 구성하여 각 대상별로 만족도와 중요도를 조사하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 유아는 인공적인 시설보다 호수, 잔디밭, 숲, 자연 놀이터와 같은 자연적인 장소에 대한 만족도와 중요도 모두가 높아 현재 상태를 지속적으로 유지해야하는 공간으로 인식하였다. 특히 유아숲체험원, 줄놀이터 등과 같은 인공시설은 만족도와 중요도가 낮아, 다른 장소에 비해 우선순위에서는 뒤로 밀리지만 개선이 필요한 영역으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모도 호수, 계곡, 숲놀이터 등의 자연공간에 대한 만족도와 중요도가 높았으나, 부모는 안전하고 청결한 시설과 공간을 선호한 반면, 아동은 자유놀이와 모험이 가능한 숲 체험 장소를 선호하는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구에서는 부모와 유아가 인지하는 숲유치원 공간에 대한 만족도와 중요도의 우선순위 분석에 기초하여 향후 숲교육 공간을 개선하고 향상시키기 위한 논의가 이루어졌다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the phenomenological experience of forest kindergarten as an experiential space by examining and analyzing the satisfaction and importance of parents and children using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method. A total of 178 children aged 3-5 years and 129 parents from a university-affiliated kindergarten operating a forest kindergarten in Seoul participated in the study. The research process involved selecting 16 locations (10 natural landscapes and 6 urban landscapes) through a Focus Group Interview (FGI) with professors and early childhood teachers, deriving experiential landscape indicators, and then developing separate questionnaires for children and parents to assess their satisfaction and perceived importance. The results showed, first, that children exhibited high satisfaction and importance for natural spaces such as lakes, grass fields, forests, and natural playgrounds, rather than artificial facilities. These spaces were perceived as areas that should be maintained in their current state. However, the forest experience center for young children and rope playground were rated lower in both satisfaction and importance, suggesting that while they were not a top priority, they required improvement. Second, parents also expressed high satisfaction and importance for natural spaces such as lakes, valleys, and forest playgrounds. However, while parents prioritized safe and clean facilities, children preferred forest experience spaces that allowed for free play and adventurous activities. Based on the priority analysis of satisfaction and importance recognized by parents and children, this study discusses strategies for improving and enhancing forest education spaces in the future.
