국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아 언어교육의 중요성과 교사의 역할이 강조되는 교육적 환경 속에서, 예비유아교사 교육의 핵심 자료인 대학교재에 교과교육학지식(PCK)이 어떻게 반영되어 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내에서 사용되는 영유아언어교육 대학교재 28권을 대상으로, PCK 개념을 바탕으로 교과내용지식, 교육과정지식, 교수내용지식, 학습자지식의 네 가지 요소를 기준으로 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 대부분의 교재는 교과내용지식과 교육과정지식에 중점을 두고 있었으며, 교수내용지식과 학습자지식은 상대적으로 구체성과 실천성이 부족한 경향을 보였다. 특히 교수내용지식에서는 수업 적용 가능성이 높은 실제 사례나 전략 제시가 제한적이었고, 학습자지식 역시 발달의 다양성과 개별성을 충분히 반영하지 못하는 경우가 많았다. 본 연구는 예비유아교사 양성과정에서 활용되는 교재의 구성 실태를 점검하고, 향후 언어교육 교재 개발 및 교육과정 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze how Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is reflected in university textbooks used for early childhood language education, in response to the growing emphasis on language development and the role of teachers in early childhood education. A total of 28 textbooks widely used in South Korea were analyzed based on Shulman's (1986) framework, which includes four components: content knowledge, curriculum knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and knowledge of learners. The analysis revealed that while most textbooks extensively addressed content knowledge and curriculum knowledge, they tended to lack specificity and practical application in pedagogical content knowledge and knowledge of learners. In particular, practical teaching strategies and contextual examples were rarely included, and learner diversity and individual developmental differences were often insufficiently considered. This study provides foundational insights into the current state of early childhood language education textbooks and offers implications for improving textbook development and curriculum design in pre-service teacher education.
