유아 대상 동기 연구의 국내 연구동향분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아를 대상으로 한 동기 연구의 동향을 분석하여 향후 연구의 시사점을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 시작 시점은 제한하지 않고 2024년 2월까지 국내 학위논문과 학술지에 수록된 논문 109편을 분석 대상으로 선정하여 일반 동향, 연구방법, 측정도구와 관련변인을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 유아 대상 동기 연구는 1981년부터 시작하여 2008년부터 점차 증가되기 시작하였으며, 동기 유형으로는 외적동기가 가장 많았고, 학습동기, 내적동기, 자기결정성, 성취동기 등의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자료유형은 양적연구인 조사연구와 실험연구가 대부분을 차지하였으며, 자료수집 방법으로는 질문지법을 주로 사용되었고, 동기 평가방법으로는 유아자기보고평정이 가장 많이 사용되었다. 연구설계에 따른 동향에서는 변인간 관계 연구, 프로그램 개발 및 효과 분석, 측정 도구개발, 이론 고찰 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 동기 연구에 사용된 연구 도구는 다양한 척도가 사용되고 있었지만, 국내에서 개발된 척도는 4개에 불과했다. 넷째, 연구의 관련변인 동향분석에서는 개인내적 요인, 부모 및 가정환경 요인, 교사 및 학습 요인 등을 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며, 프로그램 개발 및 효과 분석에서는 유아의 동기 향상에 미치는 긍정적 영향을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 유아 동기 연구에 대한 시사점과 후속연구에 대해 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze trends in motivation research focused on young children, exploring implications for future research. To this end, 109 research articles published in domestic dissertations and academic journals by February 2024 were selected without restricting the starting point. General trends, research methods, measurement tools, and related variables were analyzed, resulting in the following findings. First, research on young children's motivation began in 1981, with a notable increase starting in 2008. Among motivation types, extrinsic motivation was the most common, followed by learning motivation, intrinsic motivation, self-determination, and achievement motivation. Second, most studies were quantitative, primarily survey and experimental research. Questionnaires were the primary data collection method, and self-report rating scales were most frequently used for motivation assessment. In terms of research design, studies on relationships between variables, program development and effect analysis, tool development, and theoretical review were conducted in that order. Third, while various scales were used to assess motivation in young children, only four measurement tools were developed domestically. Fourth, in trend analysis of related variables, personal internal factors, family and parental factors, and teacher and learning factors were commonly considered. Program development and effect analysis confirmed positive impacts on enhancing young children's motivation. Based on these findings, this study suggests implications for future research on young children's motivation and recommendations for subsequent studies.
