본 논문은 다니자키 준이치로의 희곡 세계를 고찰하며, 그의 대표작인 『真 夏の夜の恋』, 『愛すればこそ』, 『お国と五平』를 중심으로 작품의 문학적 특징과 의의를 분석하였다. 다니자키는 일본 전통문화를 기반으로 현대적 감각과 심리적 깊이를 결합하여 독창적인 희곡 세계를 구축하였다. 『真夏の夜の 恋』에서는 삼각관계를 통해 사랑과 계층, 전통과 현대의 갈등을 탐구하며, 레제드라마 형식을 통해 심리적 몰입을 유도하였다. 『愛すればこそ』는 인간의 복잡한 심리와 욕망, 마조히즘적 요소를 통해 사랑의 파괴적 힘을 드러내며, 희곡과 소설의 경계를 넘나드는 독특한 구성으로 주목받았다. 『お国と五平』 는 전통적인 복수극 서사를 현대적으로 재해석하여 전통문화와 현대적 주제의 융합 가능성을 보여준다. 이들 작품은 다니자키 희곡의 문학적 가치를 재조명하며, 일본 문학사에서 그의 독창적 위치를 확인하는 데 의의가 있다. 본연구는 다니자키 희곡이 지닌 전통과 현대의 융합적 성격과 문학적 유산을체계적으로 살펴보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the theatrical works of Tanizaki Jun’ichirō, especially focusing on his representative plays: Midsummer Night’s Love (真夏の夜の恋), Because I Love You (愛すればこそ), and Okuni and Gohei (お国と五平). Tanizaki combined traditional Japanese culture with modern sensibilities and psychological depth to create a unique theatrical universe. The play Midsummer Night’s Love explores themes of love, social class, and the conflict between tradition and modernity through a triangular relationship, utilizing a Lesedrama format to enhance psychological immersion. The drama Because I Love You delves into the complexities of human psychology, desire, and masochistic tendencies; showcasing the destructive power of love with a distinctive structure that transcends the boundaries between theater and novel. Okuni and Gohei reinterprets traditional revenge dramas from a modern perspective and demonstrates the fusion of cultural traditions with contemporary themes. These works highlight the significance of the author's plays and their unique position in Japanese literary history. This study systematically explores the hybrid nature of tradition and modernity in Tanizaki’s theatrical works, and their enduring literary legacy.
