노인의 저작기능과 삼킴 관련 삶의 질에 대한 연구 : 영향 요인과 상관성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 65세 이상 노인의 저작기능과 삼킴 관련 삶의 질을 조사하고, 삼킴 관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하여 향후 노인의 구강건강 및 삼킴 관련 연구의 기초 자료로 제공하고자 하였다. 전주시 소재 J 치과의원에서 65세 이상 노인 106명을 대상으로 저작기능은 평가 도구를 사용하여 평가하였으며, 삼킴 관련 삶의 질은 삶의 질 척도를 통해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 저작기능과 삼킴 관련 삶의 질은 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 저작기능에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 연령, 틀니 사용 유무, 치아 흔들림, 구강건조, 저작 불편감이 있었으며, 삼킴 관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 잔존 치아개수, 규칙적인 칫솔질 습관, 구강건조, 저작 불편감이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 노인의 저작기능과 삼킴 관련 삶의 질 간 상관성을 확인함으로써 노인의 구강건강 증진과 관련된 향후 연구에 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the masticatory function and swallowingrelated quality of life in elderly individuals aged 65 and older and to identify factors affecting their swallowing-related quality of life, with the goal of providing foundational data for future research on oral health and swallowingrelated issues in the elderly. The study assessed 106 elderly participants over the age of 65 at J Dental Clinic in Jeonju. Masticatory function was evaluated using an assessment tool, while swallowing-related quality of life was measured through a quality-of-life scale survey. The results showed a significant correlation between masticatory function and swallowingrelated quality of life. Variables affecting masticatory function included age, denture use, tooth mobility, dry mouth, and masticatory discomfort, while factors influencing swallowing-related quality of life included the number of remaining teeth, regular brushing habits, dry mouth, and masticatory discomfort. This study confirms a significant association between masticatory function and swallowing-related quality of life in the elderly, which can serve as valuable foundational data for future research aimed at improving oral health in the elderly.
