청소년 철학교육 프로그램에 관한 질적 사례연구: 립맨(Lipman, M.)의 다차원적 사고 접근방식을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 립맨(Lipman, M.)의 다차 원적 사고 접근방식(Multidimensional Thinking Approach, MTA)을 적용한 청소년 철학교육 프로그램에 대한 질적 사례 연구이다. 사고력 교육의 중요성이 더욱 강조되는 오늘날, 청소년을 대상으로 하는 철학교육에 대한 연구는 여전히 부족하며, 특히 실제 교육 현장에서의 질적 연구나 사례 분석은 더욱 드물다. 본 연구는 이러한 빈틈을 메우기 위해 MTA를 적용한 철학교육 프로그램이 청소년들의 다차원적 사고에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 참여자들이 보인 다차원적 사고의 발전 과정은 3단계로 나타났다. 1단계 개념 이해, 2단계 삶의 적용 및 언표화, 그리고 3단계 다차원적 사고의 각 요소인 비판·창의·배려적 사고의 균형 추구이다. 이중 1~2단계의 사고 확장은 정적 확장으로, 3단계까지 나아간 경우를 동적 확장으로 명명하였다. 본 연구는 청소년 대상 철학교육 프로그램에 대한 구체적인 사례를 제시하고 분석한다는 점에서 연구 공백 보완에 기여하며, 나아가 사고의 확장이라는 개념도 새롭게 제안한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 다만 일부 예외적 사례와 연구의 한계도 있었기에, 향후 보다 다양한 논의와 연구가 필요함을 제언한다.

영문 초록

This paper presents a qualitative case study of a philosophy education program for adolescents, applying Lipman’s multidimensional thinking approach (MTA). Despite the increasing emphasis on developing thinking capacity recently, research on philosophy education for adolescents remains scarce, and qualitative studies or case analyses in real-world educational settings are even rarer. To address this gap, this study analyzes the impact of a philosophy education program using MTA on the multidimensional thinking of adolescents. The results show that participants’ multidimensional thinking developed through three stages: Stage 1 involves understanding concepts, Stage 2 involves locutionary acts of life application and articulation, and Stage 3 involves the pursuit of balance between critical, creative, and caring thinking. This study contributes to filling the research gap by analyzing and presenting real-world cases of a philosophy education program for adolescents and introduces the new concept of thinking expansion. However, some exceptional cases and limitations were observed, suggesting the need for further discussions and studies in the future.
