국문 초록

교사 전문성의 핵심 요인 중 하나인 교사효능감은 교사의 내재적 동기뿐만 아니라 학생들의 학업성취와 학교적응을 돕는다. 그러나 우리나라 교사들의 효능감은 전 세계적으로 매우 낮은 수준이다. 이 연구에서는 교사효능감을 높이기 위한 여건 조성 및 정책적 지원을 위해 교사효능감의 하위영역을 교수전략, 생활지도, 학습동기부여 세 가지로 구분하여 하위영역별 예측변인을 탐색하였다. 또한, 초등교사와 중등교사는 학교 내 담당 업무 및 역할에 있어 차이가 있을 것이라 보고, 학교급을 구분하여 교사효능감 예측변인을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울교원종단연구 2020의 1차년도 데이터를 사용하였으며, 벌점회귀모형 중 변인 그룹 단위 선택과 개별 변인 선택을 동시에 고려함으로써 예측변인을 탐색하는 Sparse group lasso 분석을 적용하였다. 학교급별, 교사효능감의 하위영역별 예측변인이 서로 다르게 나타난다는 점을 확인하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 교사효능감을 증진하기 위한 정책적 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Teacher efficacy, a key factor in teacher professionalism, enhances both teachers’ intrinsic motivation and students’ academic achievement and school adjustment. However, the level of teacher efficacy in Korea is among the lowest in the world. In order to create conditions and provide policy support to increase teacher efficacy, this study categorized teacher efficacy into three subdomains: teaching strategies, life guidance, and learning motivation. It explored the predictors of each subdomain, distinguishing between elementary and secondary school teachers due to their different tasks and roles. To this end, we applied Sparse group lasso regression analysis, which explores predictors by considering both group and individual variable selection in a penalized regression model. We used data from the first year of the Seoul Teacher Longitudinal Study 2020. The results showed that the predictors of teacher efficacy varied by school level and sub-domain of teacher efficacy. Based on these findings, policy implications for improving teacher efficacy were proposed.
