마이크로전공의 효율적 운영을 위한 교수, 학생 인식조사

국문 초록

본 연구는, 최근 학생들에게 학점 이수의 부담을 최소화하면서도 다양한 학습 선택권을 제공해 줄 수 있는 마이크로전공에 대한 관심이 증가함에 따라, 마이크 로전공을 처음 개설하여 운영 중인 수도권 소재 대학의 교수와 학생들의 인식을 조사 하는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 설문 조사 결과, 교수들은 61.3%가 마이크로전공에 대해 들어본 적이 있으나 학생들은 61%가 들어본 적이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 마이크 로전공에의 참여 의사 및 만족도는 교수와 학생 모두 높았다. 교수들은 학생들의 융합 적 사고능력을 키우는데 도움이 될 수 있다고 보았으며, 학생들은 부·복수전공보다 부담이 적다는 것이 가장 큰 이유였다. 마이크로전공 유형으로 교수들은 2개 이상의 학과가 개설하고 개설학과 학생들도 이수할 수 있는 유형을, 학생들은 국가 자격증과 연계되는 유형을 가장 원하는 것으로 나타났다. 마이크로전공 활성화를 위해 교수들 은 학교와 학생의 관심이 가장 필요하고, 학생들은 타전공자에 대한 기초학습지원이 가장 필요하다고 인식하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로, 미래사회의 변화에 대처하기 위해 대학이 보다 적극적으로 마이크로전공의 도입과 운영, 특히 학생들에게 실질적 인 도움이 되는 유형에 대한 고려가 필요하며, 교수와 학생 대상 홍보 강화, 그리고 교수와 학생의 관심이 마이크로전공의 실제 운영으로 이어질 수 있는 학사 제도에 대한 고려가 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of professors who actually launch a micro-major at universities and students who participate directly in classes since the interest in the micro-major has increased recently. According to a survey of professors and students attending university in the metropolitan area, 61.3 percent of professors have heard of micro-major, but 61 percent of students have not. The intention and satisfaction of participating in the micro-major were high for both professors and students. Professors saw that it could help students develop their convergent thinking skills. The biggest reason for students was that it was less of a burden than double majors or minor majors. Professors want a course type that can be opened by two or more departments and can be completed by students in the these departments. Students find micro-major course type that is linked to national certificates is the most desirable. In order to revitalize the micro major, professors recognized that the attention of schools and students was the most needed, and students recognized that basic learning support for other majors was the most needed. Based on these results, it was suggested that university should more actively consider the introduction and operation of the micro-major to cope with changes in the future society, especially the introduction of types that actually help students, strengthen promotion for professors and students, and consider systems such as the major curriculum certification system so that professors and students' interest can lead to actual operation of the micro-major.
