국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중국 연변조선족의 복지에 대한 의식의 실태와 가족주의 가치관이 복지의식에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 본 연구는 연변의 조선족을 대상으로 직접방문면접조사를 통해 경험적 연구를 수행하였다. 분석 결과로 첫째, 가족주의 가치관에 교육, 연령, 경제적 수입, 농촌지역거주 등의 요인이 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 복지책임주체와 관련하여 개인 및 가족 보다는 국가가 더 많은 책임을 갖고 있다고 인식하였다. 셋째, 가족주의 가치관이 강할수록 복지정책 및 프로그램에 대한 욕구가 강하게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 경향은 한국과 현저한 차이가 있는데 중국의 오랜 사회주의 경험으로 인해 중국조선족은 보다 국가주도의 복지에 크게 의존하고, 현재 큰 위기 속에 있는 가족의 기능을 강화하도록 국가가 더 많이 개입하도록 기대하기 때문으로 보인다. 효를 중요시여기는 같은 유교문화권에 있고 전통적 가족주의를 많이 갖고 있지만 중국조선족은 가족주의가 강할수록 가족중심의 복지보다는 국가의 가족기능 보강에 더 많은 기대를 하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the reality of Korean-Chinese's welfare consciousness in Yanbian and the effect of their familism on welfare consciousness. A theoretical study was conducted on familism, welfare consciousness, the Korean-Chinese's families and their welfare. The empirical study was based on interviews with the Korean-Chinese. The results show the following. First, factors like education, age, economic income, and living in a rural area affected their familism. Second, the Korean-Chinese believe that the government should have more welfare responsibility than individuals or families. Third, the people who have stronger familism tend to have a greater desire for the welfare policy and programs. This is a very different tendency from that of Korea. This tendency seems to be caused by their long history of socialism in which they depend on government-driven welfare and expect the government to play a more important role in enhancing the function of the family. They still value the worth of “hyo” (the noble attitude toward parents) in Confucianism and have strong familism. But the people who have stronger familism show greater expectation of government-driven family function enhancement rather than family-centered welfare.
