패턴의 구조를 강조한 2학년 규칙 찾기 수업의 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 2학년 학생들에게 패턴의 구조에 대한 이해를 강조하는 방향으로 규칙 찾기 수업을 재구성하여 지도한 후, 학생들의이해가 어떻게 향상되었는지 분석하는 것에 초점을 두었다. 이를 위하여 두 학교에서 각각 한 학급의 학생들을 연구 참여자로 선정하였으며, 재구성한수업 실행 전과 후에 패턴에 대한 이해를 평가하는 사전 검사와 재구성한 수업 이후의 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 이때 각 학교에서 추가적으로 한 학급씩을 비교 집단으로 선정하여 실험 집단과 비교 집단의 사전·사후 검사 결과를 비교·분석하였다. 연구 결과, 패턴에 대한 이해를 측정하는 문항중 패턴의 다양한 구성 요소와 배열 형태 및 변화 양상 찾기, 패턴 간 구조 비교하기, 패턴의 특정한 항을 추측하고 이유 설명하기 유형에서 재구성한수업의 효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 초등학교 저학년 규칙 찾기 수업에서 패턴의 구조와 관련된 활동 지도에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study focused on analyzing how students' understanding of the structure of patterns improved after the lessons of finding rules were reorganized and taught to second graders to emphasize the structure of patterns. Students from one class in each of the two schools were selected as research participants and given a pre-test to assess their initial understanding of patterns and a post-test after the reorganized lesson were administered. One additional class from each school was selected as a comparison group, and the pre- and post-test results of the experimental and comparison groups were compared and analyzed. The results of the study showed that the reorganized lesson was effective on the following items: finding multiple components, arrangements, and changes in patterns; comparing the structures between patterns; guessing the specific terms in patterns: and explaining why. Based on these results, instructional implications for helping lower elementary students under- stand the structure of patterns through the finding rules unit were discussed.
