국문 초록

모더니즘의 관찰자로서 도시산책자 알레고리에 관한 논의는 보들레르, 애드가알렌 포, 에.테.아. 호프만, 크라카우어, 벤야민에게서 나타난다. 본 연구는 이 중에서 크라카우어의 미학에 초점을 맞추면서 그의 도시산책자 개념을 벤야민의그것과 비교하면서 유사성과 차이점을 고찰한다. 시각적 무의식 속에서 크라카우어의 도시산책자는 선험적 고향상실증에 현상속에 놓여있다. 삶의 의미의 총체성이 사라진 시대적 상황을 의미하는 이 개념과연관된 도시산책자는 기다리는 자, 멜랑콜리커, 꿈꾸는 자로 분류된다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 사회비판영화와 선험적 고향상실자를 위한 영화관, 정신분산의장소로서의 영화관에 주목한다. 이와 연관하여 이어지는 홍상수 영화분석은 도시축소화 기법 속에서 영화 또는 영화관의 계몽적 성격, 영화의 구원적 기능과 부정적 영화, 현실도피처로서의 영화관, 영화관의 정신분산기능과 즉흥적 현실구성에 관한 논의에 초점을 맞추고 있다.

영문 초록

Krakauer’s flaneur is a detective who functions as a person who is waiting in the visual unconscious, is a melancholy keeper, and is a dreamer, to seek for a moment of utopia named as a reality of high meaning, in the dream-like city labyrinth. To him who demands a social criticism film, a movie theater functions as a venue for a transcendental homelessness or distraction. This perspective can also be considered in Hong Sang-Su’s film. The setting of the city is a place where the flow of life and contingency strongly dominate like Krakauer’s film theory. The pain and traces of Hong Sang-Su’s flaneur cause him to suffer in the fear of the life is so-called ‘historical images’ in Krakauer’s meaning. The flaneur in Hong Sang-Su’s film lies in the process of escaping social norm or negative consciousness to heal this historical image. The movie or movie theater he demands is functioning as a ‘distraction’ in Krakauer’s meaning, which is a function of social enlightenment and social criticism. In other words, like Krakauer, the movie theater presents itself as a life of high meaning or a life in which the enlightened audience must live. In addition, the place where historical images are cured, the asylum of escapism, and the functions of salvation are also able to be understood as the vocation of the movie theater. Especially, the salvation function of movie theater shows similarity with the Krakauer’s dialectical process when the movie theater suggests the moment of utopia strongly. His movie or movie theater demands the realistic composition of the improvisational mosaic pursues the moment of utopia in the Krakauer’s meaning.
