국문 초록

이 연구는 배우 송강호를 하나의 장르로 상정하여 송강호 장르의 양식 체계를규명하고, 장르의 두 가지 성질인 ‘관습’과 ‘변형’의 관점에서 송강호의 작품을분류하고 분석한다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 대중과 평단을 사로잡은 송강호 장르만의 비결을 도출하고, 나아가 전체 영화 산업과 장르영화 연구에 시사하는 함의를 밝히고자 한다. 송강호 장르의 양식은 소시민인 등장인물이 특정한 사건에 직면하고 해결하는 서사 구조에 배우 송강호 특유의 유머코드와 페이소스가 깃든얼굴 클로즈업 이미지 등의 도상 기호들이 결합한 체계이다. 이와 같은 장르 양식을 따르는 영화들은 관습형의 영화로, 장르의 특성을 거스르는 영화들은 변형적 속성의 영화로 구분된다. 또한 두 속성이 서로 교차하며 새로운 형태로 재창조되는 영화들도 발견되는데, 이는 예술적 속성의 영화라 할 수 있다. 송강호 장르는 관습과 변형의 영화들을 순차적으로 선보이며 장르의 진화과정을 통해 발달하였다. 현재에는 장르 발달의 정점에 도달하며, 장르 양식에 예술성이 깃드는‘장르의 예술화’경지를 보여준다. 장르의 예술화는 영화의 상업적 성공과 미학적성취를 동시에 충족시키는 대중문화의 핵심적 가치로, 장르영화와 영화 산업 전반에서 지향해야할 현상이다.

영문 초록

This study assumes actor ‘Song Kang Ho’ as a genre and positions Song Kang Ho’s work in terms of two characteristics of genre, convention and transformation. Through these researches, I analyze the secret of Song Kang Ho’s genre that captivates both the public and the critics, and then try to clarify implications for the genre films and cultural contents industry. As a result of the analysis, Song Kang Ho’s genre style is a system in which a humorous code and a pathos image are mixed in a narrative structure in which the ordinary people experiences an incident. Films that follow this genre style are classified as convention, while those that are against genre style are classified as transformation. There are also movies where the two attributes cross each other and are recreated in a new form .This is an artistic film. The Song Kang Ho’s genre shows films of convention and transformations sequentially and develops through the process of genre evolution. And now it reaches the peak of genre development and shows the artification of the genre. The artification of the genre is the core value of popular culture that satisfies both the commercial and aesthetic achievements of movies, and should be noted throughout the film industry and even across the cultural contents industry.
