지적장애자녀를 둔 어머니의 교육 생애사

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 지적장애자녀를 둔 어머니의 자녀의 통합교육 경험 유무에 따른 생애 경험을 분석함으로써 통합교육이 그 수요자들에게 어떻게 경험되고 있는지를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 지적장애자녀 2명을 양육한 어머니 1명을 대상으로 생애 경험을 수집하기 위하여 생애사 연구 방법을 활용하였다. 자료수집은 일화 인터뷰 방법을 사용하였고, 수집된 자료는 연구 참여자의 동의하에 녹음 후 전사과정을 거쳐 텍스트화 하였다. 텍스트화된 자료는 Shütze의 이야기 구조 분석 방법에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 연구 참여자인 어머니는 지적장애 자녀들의 학령기 이전의 경험은 자녀의 특수교육과 관련 서비스를 선택하는 데 있어 겪게 되는 어려움과 기회의 제한으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지적장애자녀의 통합교육 경험은 사회 구성원으로서의 인정을 의미하였다. 셋째, 지적장애자녀의 어머니는 특수교육의 의미를 ‘돌봄’으로 인식하고 있었다. 결론: 지적장애자녀의 통합교육을 경험한 어머니의 교육적 생애사를 토대로 통합교육의 실수요자인 장애당사자와 어머니에 대한 포괄적인 이해를 돕고 통합교육을 지원하기 위한 다양한 방안에 대한 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study analyzed the life experience of the mother with children with intellectual disabilities. Method: The life history research used to collect the life experience for one mother who raised two children with intellectual disabilities. Episodic interview method was used for data collection. The collected data were recorded with the consent of the research participant and then text did. The analysis was carried out according to the procedural structure analysis method of Schütze's life history. Results: First, the mother, who is a research participant, showed that the experience of preschool age of children with intellectual disabilities was limited by the difficulties and opportunities that they experienced in choosing their children's special education and related services. Second, the inclusive education experience of children with intellectual disabilities meant recognition as a member of society. Third, the mother of a child with intellectual disabilities recognized the meaning of special education as 'care'. Conclusion: Based on the educational life history of the mother who experienced the inclusive education, it will provide a comprehensive understanding of the disabled persons and mothers who are the actual users of inclusive education and provide implications for various measures to support inclusive education.
