통합학급 적응기간 운영에 대한 중학교 특수학급 교사의 경험 및 지원 요구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 중학교 특수학급 교사를 대상으로 통합학급 적응기간에 대한 인식과 경험 및 지원요구를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구 참여자는 중학교 특수학급에 근무하고, 통합학급 적응기간에 대한 운영 경험이 있는 특수교사 6명으로 선정하여 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 연구 참여자들은 학교 상황 및 학생 특성에 따라 다양한 방법으로 통합학급 적응기간을 운영하고 있었다. 둘째, 연구 참여자들은 통합학급 적응기간 운영에 대한 법적 근거 부재 및 일반학급에서 돌발행동을 자주 보이는 학생들로 인해 통합학급 적응기간을 운영하는데 현실적인 한계를 느낀다고 하였다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 통합학급 적응기간의 운영을 위해 일반교사와 관리자의 인식 변화 및 통합학급 적응기간에 대한 운영지침이 마련되어야 한다고 하였다. 결론: 통합학급 적응기간이 효과적으로 운영되기 위해서는 일반교사와 관리자를 대상으로 하는 통합학급 적응기간에 대한 연수 실시, 통합학급 적응기간 운영에 대한 매뉴얼 구축, 그리고 일반교사와 특수교사의 협력을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception, experiences, and support needs of special class teachers in middle schools on management of the adaptation period in inclusive classes. Method: 6 special class teachers in middle schools participated in the study, and the study conducted the focus group interviews(FGI). Results: First, the study participants were operating the adaptation period in inclusive classes in different ways depending on the school conditions and student characteristics. Second, the participants felt the realistic limitations in operating adaptation period in inclusive classes due to the absence of legal basis and the unexpected behaviors of the students with disabilities in general classes. Third, the participants thought that general teachers, vice principals, and principals needed to change their perceptions, and guidelines for management of the adaptation period in inclusive classes should be presented to special class teachers. Conclusion: In order to operate the adaptation period in the inclusive classes properly, the training for general teachers, vice principals, and principals was needed, and the manuals needed to be established for the management of adaptation period in inclusive classes.
