영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify whether the so-called ‘kwanhyeongsa(관형사)’ in Korean should be seen as one of the separate type of parts of speech from a typological perspective. At the same time, the existing ‘kwanhyeongsa’ words should be given a detailed resetting for their parts of speech. To reach the above mentioned purposes, the classification standard of parts of speech which is the basis for all the discussions about parts of speech was firstly researched in this paper. Secondly, the existing ‘kwanhyeongsa’ words were compared with Chinese and Japanese. As a result of the comparison, it is not necessary to categorize ‘kwanhyenongsa’ separately. It makes more sense to classify most of the ‘kwanhyenogsa’ words as adjectives, pronouns or numerals according to their own meaning features. Also some of them can be identified as adverbs. In addition, words provided with features such as [TIME], [ORDER] or [DIRECTION] can be seen as elements of words but not words.
