국문 초록

본 소고에서는 우리나라 생명보험 영업소조직을 연구대상으로 선정한 후 모집인의 이직을 개인차원 및 집단차원에서 분석했다. 구체적으로는 인구통계적 유사성이 개인의 이직가능성 및 집단의 이직율에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석했다. 실증분석을 위하여 한 기존사에 소속한 서울소재 65개 영업소 및 해당 영업소에 소속된 1124명의 모집인을 표본으로 선정했으며 선정된 표본들에 대한 9개월 동안의 인구통계적 자료 및 이직 관련자료를 해당 기존사로부터 제공받았다. 분석 결과에 의하면 개인차원에서는 나이 이질성 변수가 그리고 집단차원에서는 근속기간 이질성 변수가 개인의 이직가능성 및 집단의 이직율에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과가 시사하는 바를 실용적인 측면과 학술적인 측면에서 논의했다. 끝으로 본 소고에서 나타난 분석상의 한계에 초점을 맞추어 미래연구들을 제시했다.

영문 초록

This paper analyzed the exit behavior of solicitors and the exit rate of sales branches in the Korean life insurance industry. More specifically, we analyzed the effects of demographic similarities on the turnover of solicitors and the turnover rate of sales branches empirically. For the empirical analysis, sixty five sales branches and one thousand one hundred fourteen solicitors in a large Korean life insurance company were sampled. The company provided data on the demographic variables and turnover over a nine-month observation period. The empirical analysis shows that the demographic similarity in age at the individual level affects the likelihood of individual turnover, and the demographic similarity in tenure at the group level affects the turnover rate of sales branches. We discussed the practical and academic implications of the results. Finally, we discussed several implications for future research focusing on the limitation of this research.
