국문 초록

본 연구에서는 제1차∼제8차 ｢사업체패널조사｣ 자료를 대상으로 지역 간 고용 및 근로 소득 격차를 분석하고, 패널 선형회귀모형 추정을 통해 격차 발생 요인에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 고용의 지역 간 격차는 매우 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 서울, 광주광역시, 전북 및 전남, 강원도 및 경남 지역의 고용자 수의 불평등이 다른 지역과 비교하여 상대적으로 높았다. 둘째, 고용의 불평등 지수를 지역별로 분해한 결과, 서울 및 경기 수도권과 광주 및 대전광역시, 전남과 경남이 고용 불평등에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 고용 격차 발생 요인을 분석한 결과, 수도권이고, 비제조업이며, 회사법인인 경우, 그리고 1인당 부가가치가 낮을수록 고용 불평등이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 근로 소득 불평등의 경우 수도권이고, 제조업이며, 회사법인이 아니며, 1인당 부가가치가 높을수록 근로 소득 불평등이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In this study, the gap in employment and earnings between regions was analyzed for the data from the 1st to 8th ｢Employment Panel Survey｣, and the factors that caused the gap were examined through panel linear regression model estimation. The main findings of the analysis are as follows. First, the regional disparity in domestic employment was found to be very large, and the inequality in the number of employees in Seoul, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Jeonbuk and Jeonnam, and Gangwon-do and Gyeongnam was relatively high compared to other regions. Second, as a result of decomposing the employment inequality index by region, it was found that Seoul and the Gyeonggi metropolitan area, Gwangju and Daejeon Metropolitan City, and Jeonnam and Gyeongnam had a large impact on employment inequality. Third, as a result of analyzing the factors causing the employment gap, it was found that employment inequality was higher in the metropolitan area, non-manufacturing, corporate corporations, and the lower the added value per person. And in the case of earned income inequality, it was found that the higher the value added per capita, the higher the earned income inequality in the metropolitan area, the manufacturing industry, and not the corporate corporation.
