국문 초록

ICT(정보통신기술)와 BDA(Big Data Analytics)의 급속한 발전은 인류사회를 21세기 정보화사회로 이끌었고 기업이 사업을 영위하는 방식에도 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 이러한 촉진 효과는거시 수준의 실증적 연구에서도 살펴볼 수 있다. 그러나 상품 수출과 서비스 수출에의 영향력차이에 대해서는 그동안 거의 다루어지지 않았다. BDA가 한 국가의 수출에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증적 연구 또한 제한적이었다. 본 논문은 OECD로부터 수집한 최신 데이터를 활용하여 ICT와 BDA가 각국의 수출에 미치는영향에 대하여 살펴보았다. 본고의 회귀분석 결과는 ICT/BDA가 한 국가의 서비스 수출과 상품 수출에 미치는 영향 차이에 대해 보다 향상된 이해를 제공한다. 본고의 실증분석은 Fixed Effects 모델과 FD-GMM 모델을 채택하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 ICT와 BDA의 활용은 서비스와 상품 수출 모두에 촉진 효과가 있는 것으로 보여진다. 또한, ICT/BDA의 촉진 효과는 상품 수출보다 서비스 수출에서 조금 더 일찍 나타날 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나, 서비스수출에 미치는 촉진 효과가 상품 수출에 미치는 효과보다 더 큰지에 관한 여부는 분명하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Fast-developing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and BDA (Big Data Analytics) has led human society into the information society of the 21st Century and brought huge changes in the manner firms conduct business. Their stimulative effects were found in empirical research at the aggregated level as well. However, differences between their impact upon goods exports and services exports are rarely mentioned. Empirical studies on BDA’s effects on a country’s exports are also rather limited. This paper studies ICT and BDA’s effects on countries' export values with the latest data available from the OECD. The results from the regression analysis give a clearer understanding of the different effects the use of ICT/BDA may have on services and goods exports of a nation. The empirical analysis in this paper adopted the Fixed Effects model and FD-GMM model. Results show that the use of ICT and BDA in business have stimulative effects on both goods and services exports. The stimulative effects may appear earlier in services exports than in goods exports. Whether the effects are greater for services exports remains ambiguous, as the size and type of industries of the country could impact the results.
