국문 초록

본고는 돌트 신경에 나타나는 무조건적 선택과 제한속죄 교리의 상관성을 그 기독론적 의의와 가치에 중점을 두어 고찰한다. 이를 다룸에 있어서 언약적이고 법정적인 그리스도의 의의 전가에 대한 개혁신학자들의 입장과 알미니우스주의자들의 입장의 차이에 전체적으로 주목한다. 그 주요한 논점들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그리스도의 의의 언약적 전가는 당하신 순종(obedientia passiva)과 행하신 순종(obedientia activa)을 모두 대상으로 하는가? 둘째, 그리스도의 의는 오직 택함 받은 자들만을 위한 것인가? 그렇다면, 유기의 책임이 하나님께 돌려지지 않는가? 셋째, 이러한 제한속죄는 필히 선택과 유기의 이 중예정으로 귀결되는가? 그렇다면, 유기된 자들에게는 그리스도의 의가 전혀 무관한가? 넷째, 이중예정은 예지적인가 무조건적인가? 달리 말하면, 공로를 예지하는 조건적 선택과 유기인가? 아니면 공로 없음을 예지하는 무조건적선택과 유기인가? 다섯째, 구원적 믿음(fides salvifica)은 아무 공로도 없는, 단지 도구인 혹은 형상인에 불과한가? 이러한 질문들에 대한 돌트 신경의 답을 추구하는 과정에서 우리는 십자가에서 다 이루신 그리스도의 의가 그 실체, 공로, 질료에 있어서 뿐만 아니라 그 적용, 실천, 효과, 전가에 있어서도 성도의 전체 구원과정을 통하여 무조건적이며 전적인 은혜 가운데서 작용함을 발견 하게 된다. 이러한 그리스도의 은혜는, 삼위일체 하나님의 창세 전의 작정에 따라서, 오직 택함 받은 사람들에게만 제한적으로 전가된다. 여기에 알미니우스와 그의 추종자들인 항론파에 맞서는 돌트 신경의 신학적 요체가 있다.

영문 초록

This paper makes a study of the relevance between unconditional election and limited atonement in the Canons of Dort by investigating its Christological significance, especially focusing on the covenantal and forensic imputation of Christ’s righteousness, which includes both ‘passive obedience(obedientia passiva)’ and ‘active obedience(obedientia activa),’ in comparison with Arminius’ theology, which is deployed significantly in his main works “A Declaration of the Sentiments or Declaratio sententiae” and “Apology or Defence” and the Arminians’ position, which is exhibited most briefly but clearly in the writing “Arminian or Remonstrant Articles(Articuli Arminiani sive Remonstrantia).” The reason Arminius and his colleagues and followers do not accept orthodox view of double predestination of election according to unmerited grace(gratia immerita) and reprobation according to debted punishment(poena debita), and do not regard God’s eternal decree of predestinating some to eternal life but others some to eternal damnation as absolute is they tend to separate what Christ did, that is its merit, from what He accomplished, that is its efficacy, and think that in regard to the former there is no difference between believers and unbelievers because their will and work to believe cannot be decided before their decision is made. On the contrary, the reformed view of the Canons of Dort demonstrates a firm conviction of Christ’s righteousness, which was fulfilled on the cross, is applied to none other than the elect limitedly not only in its substance, merit, and material(materia), but also in its application, practice, efficacy, and imputation. In this respect, the absoluteness of predestination, whether it is election or reprobation, is held consistently along with limited atonement, Christologically, in the Canons of Dort.
