국문 초록

상황화는 선교에 있어서 필수적인 요소이다. 이것은 선교지, 특히 기독교세계관 혹은 하나님의 말씀이 필요한 상황에는 더욱 그러하다. 본 연구는 비성경적 상황화의 위험에 대한 탐구이다. 사례 연구로 남아프리카공화국의 아파르테이트를 다루었다. 아파르테이트는 성경의 비성경적 이해에 기반을 둔다. 아프리카너(Afrikaner)들은 그들의 입장에서 성경적 원리들을 사용하여 정치적 아젠다(Agenda)를 이루려고 시도했다. 선교적으로 볼 때 이것은 비성경적 상황화다. 성경적 상황화는 혼합주의를 피하기 위하여 하나님의 말씀의 본질을 보존하는 동시에 문화적 특징들을 유지하는 것을 추구한다. 하지만 아파르 테이트는 그들의 목적(인종차별)을 충족하기 위하여 성경을 사용함으로서 성경적 상황화의 요구사항을 충족하지 못한다. 비성경적 상황화는 단지 말씀을 거절하여 혼합주의 빠지는 것 뿐 아니라 성경적 규범에 대한 그릇된 해석으로 말미암아 제도적 성취를 이루는 것 역시 비성경적 상황화이다. 본 연구는 4가 지 파트로 이루어져 있다. 첫째, 상황화의 정의, 용례, 그리고 성경적 상황화. 둘째, 아파르테이트의 신학적 정당성. 셋째, 성경이 말하는 이웃의 범주에 대한 탐구를 위한 외국인(낯선자들)에 대한 연구. 넷째, 아파르테이트에 대한 비판으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 독자들로 하여금 다문화 사회속의 다양한 상황들 (가령 동성연애, 난민사태, 테러리즘 등)에 대한 비성경적 상황화가 어떻게 사회를 위험에 빠질 수 있을지에 대한 생각을 제공해 줄 것으로 기대되며 성도들로 하여금 변화무쌍한 세상 속에 더욱 말씀에 뿌리 깊게 내리도록 경종을 울리는 독려가 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

Contextualization is an essential element in missions. It requires crucial role in mission fields especially when it is needed for Christian world view or the word of God. This paper seeks to explore a danger of unbiblical contextualization. As a case study the paper deals apartheid policy in South Africa. The foundation of apartheid was in unbiblical understanding of the Scripture. Afrikaners utilized biblical principles (in their stand point) to serve political agenda in multicultural setting. In missiological perspective it is an unbiblical cotextualization. Biblical contextualization seeks to preserve the meaning of the word of God while maintaining cultural aspect to avoid syncretism. However apartheid policy falls short of the requirement of the biblical contextualization by using the scripture to fulfill their purpose, the racial segregation. Unbiblical contextualization is not only a contextualization that neglects the Scripture that leads to a syncretism but mis-interpretation of biblical norms to fulfill one s policy is also unbiblical contextualization. The paper consists of 4 parts. First, it explores meaning, usage, and biblical contextualization. Second, it introduces theological justification of apartheid. Third, the paper deals biblical understanding of foreigners (strangers) to study biblical boundary of neighbors. Fourth, it concludes with criticism on apartheid. It is expected that the Apartheid will further readers understanding of how unbiblical contextualization in a mutilcultural and diverse settings(such as homosexualism, current issues of refugees, terrorism and so forth), can endanger a society and also alarming words that encourage Christians to be rooted deeply in the word of God in this changing world.
