대기업과 중소기업의 임금격차 결정요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국노동패널조사(KLIPS) 4-11차년도 자료를 이용해 대기업과 중소기업의 임금격차를 분석한다. 근로자의 관측되지 않는 특성을 고려하여 고정효과모델과 횡단면모델 분석 결과와 비교하였다. 횡단면 분석결과는 상당한 상향 편의 존재하였지만 고정효과모델 분석결과는 역시 기업규모별 임금격차가 존재하는 것으로 분석되었다. Oaxaca - Blinder 임금분해 방법을 이용하여 대기업과 중소기업의 임금격차를 분해한 결과, 기업규모별 근로자 특성의 차이가 차별적 요인보다는 임금격차에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 총 격차의 59.8%가 근로자 특성(인적자본 등)의 차이에 기인하고 40.2%는 차별적 요인에 기인하는 것으로 나타났다. 그 중에 교육년수(0.155), 근속년수(0.211)는 임금격차에 가장 주요한 원인으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구에 의해 임금불평등 완화를 위한 사회정책을 수립하는데 있어 대기업과 중소기업 임금격차가 반드시 고려되어야 힘이 실증적으로 밝혀졌으며, 중소기업진홍 및 노동시장정책에서의 개선방안 마련에 시사점이 제시되고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the reasons of the wage gap between large firms and small firms, using KLIPS (2001-2010). Wage differential of firm-size makes a great role in income disparities. For finding the reasons that make the wage differential between large firms and small firms. GLS model, Fixed Effect model, Probit model, Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition were used in this analysis. In terms of human capital theory and efficiency wage theory we find couples of factors to affect the firm size wage gap. Employees who possess more education and experience are easier to find at large firms. And the wage differential between large firms and small firms is approximately 0.53. 59.8% of the total differential were caused by endowment in different labors. 40.2% of the total differential were caused by discrimination. The factors which significantly impact wage gap differential are education (0.155), tenure (0.211) and some others. Results also suggest that more highly skilled workers are more often found at larger firms
