액션러닝을 활용한 체험학습 프로그램 사례연구

국문 초록

교육현장에서 체험학습이 활발하게 실시되고 있다. 체험학습은 교육과정에 제시되어 있는 일련의 학습과제를 학생들이 직접 찾아가서 문제를 조사하고 토론하는 실제적인 과정을 통하여 학습목표를 달성하는 교수학습방법이다. 그러나 체험학습을 위한 구체적인 자료와 지도방법의 제공없이 실천만 강조하고 있는 실정이다. 체험학습이 목적에 맞는 성과를 갖기 위해서는 적절한 방법론이 필요하다. 이 연구는 액션러닝이 체험학습의 방법론으로 활용 가능한지 탐색하기 위하여 수도권 대학의 대학생 14명을 대상으로 이루어진 5박6일의 싱가폴 교육 체험 연수 과정을 액션러닝 프로그램으로 개발, 운영하였다. 프로그램의 구성은 크게 세 부분으로 되어있다. 첫째, 체험활동 전 활동으로 팀별로 연수기간동안 무엇을 연구할 것인지, 팀별 연구주제를 정하는 활동이다. 둘째, 체험활동으로 이 기간 중에는 매일 아침에 팀별 미팅을, 일과 후에는 팀별 성찰모임을 실시하였다. 셋째, 체험활동 후 활동으로 연수기간 중 수집한 자료를 토대로 최종 보고서를 작성하는 것이다. 참가자들은 체험활동에 적극적으로 참여하게 되었고, 체험활동을 보다 의미있게 보낼 수 있었으며, 경험을 내재화하는데 많은 도움이 되었음을 보고하였다. 따라서 액션러닝이 체험학습을 위한 방법론으로 활용될 수 있도록 체계화된 연구와 실천이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Experiential learning has been carried out actively in the field of education. By experiential learning, students investigate and discuss learning problems in order to achieve the curriculum objectives. But without teaching materials and methods for experiential learning, researchers have emphasized 'practice'. An appropriate methodology is needed to achieve the goal of experiential learning. This study assume that action learning is one of the methodology and selects Singapore education experience program to achieve this purpose. The program was developed and operated for 5 nights 6 days using action learning. Participants were consisted of 14 metropolitan university undergraduate students in this program. The program consists of three steps: pre-activities, activities, and post-activities. First, in pre-activities, participants as a team determined what students study during Singapore school visits. Second, morning and evening reflection meetings were conducted in activities in the program. Third, they wrote and presented final reports based on data collected during the visits in post-activities. Participants confessed that they involved themselves in experiential learning more actively. They also emphasized that they had meaningful internalized experiences. Therefore, the systematic study and implementation will be required to use action learning for experiential learning in the future study.
