영문 초록

This study aims to see how different groupings in cyber university discussions affect discussion participation. In one group, all the students participated in discussion as members of one whole group. In the second case, students were divided into several groups. The members of the multi-group discussion case were found to participate significantly more than those in the single group discussion case, but the high deviation in multi-group discussions show that there remains the need to consider the participation difference among the groups. This study shows that multi-group discussions encourage more participation in quantity, but it suggests that there should be ways to encourage students in the group which had little participation. Overall this demonstrates the need for further research on online discussions.
