의미망 분석을 통한 정신지체아동과 청각장애아동의 어휘발달에 관한 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 장애아동의 효율적인 언어지도를 위한 방안을 탐색하기 위하여 표적어휘에 대한 의미망 분석을 통하여 전체어휘와 개념어휘 및 의미어휘의 발달을 비교하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 모두 180명이 선정되었다. 비장애아동은 만 5세의 유치원 아동 20명과 만 6세와 7세의 초등학교 아동 각 20명, 정신지체아동은 특수학급에 재학중인 정신연령 만 5, 6, 7세 아동 각 20명, 그리고 청각장애아동은 특수학교의 유치부와 초둥부 과정에 재학중인 만 5, 6, 7세 각 20명을 대상으로 14개의 보통명사를 제시하여 의미망 분석을 실시하였다. 비장애아동은 표적어휘에 대한 개념어휘와 의미어휘가 연속적으로 발달하여 어휘발달에 대한 개념어휘와 의미어휘 지도를 위한 수준별 계획의 구분이 필요하지 않으나, 정신지체아동과 청각장애아동의 경우에는 비장애아동에 비해 어휘발달이 모두 지체되었다. 정신지체아동은 청각장애아동에 비해 또한 어휘발달이 지체되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사고와 언어의 차이에 기초하여 정신지체아동과 청각장애아동의 어휘발달을 촉진할 수 있는 지도방안이 설계되어야 함을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare the developmental differences between concept and meaning with schema analysis of the three groups which are children with non-disabilities, mental retarded, and hearing impaired. Sixty children with non-disabilities, sixty mental retarded, and sixty hearing impaired who were five, six, and seven years old were participated. Fourteen target words were suggested to approach to schema strategy. The results were that: (a) the non-disabilities group developed the total numbers of vocabularies with increasing age; (b) the mental retarded children delayed to develop the total number of vocabularies; (c) hearing impaired children developed the concept vocabularies based on their age similar with non-disabilities, however the total and meaning vocabularies mental retarded children did not; (d) the mental retarded and hearing impaired groups indicated that development of the vocabularies with different procedures and methods based on the two group's different learning conditions such as the differences fo the thought and language. Therefore, this study concluded that the language teaching methods are designed with the children's learning conditions.
