유아학급과 유아특수학급의 교실 내 물리적 환경 실태 및 교사간 인식비교

국문 초록

이 연구는 유아학급과 유아특수학급의 교실 내 물리적 환경을 비교하여 장애 유아에게 제공되어져야 하는 최적의 물리적 환경에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 연구 대상으로 호남지역에 위치한 3곳의 유아학급과 유아특수학급을 대상으로 교실의 물리적 환경 실태와 환경운영에 대한 교사의 인식을 비교 조사하였다. 연구 결과를 3가지 요약하였다. 첫째, 유아특수학급의 학습 영역별 교구의 제시 정도는 저조한 편이며 교사들은 충분한 양의 교구를 보유하고 있지 못한 것으로 인식하였다. 둘째, 공간의 구성 및 배치와 공간 운영실태는 유아학급과 유아특수학급이 상당히 다른 양상을 띠고 있었다. 셋째, 유아교사와 유아특수교사는 교재.교구의 선정기준이나 제시 방법, 교사의 중재 역할, 그리고 교실의 영역 구성 기준과 바람직한 교육 환경에 대해 상이한 관점을 가지고 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare indoor physical setting between regular and special early childhood classrooms to find out the characteristics of physical environment for young children with disabilities. For that purpose, three regular preschool classrooms and three special preschool classrooms were selected. The findings of this study were as follows： First, regarding the possession of teaching materials and aids for indoor interest area by the education institutes, the teachers from the regular education institutes found their workplaces to be more furnished with teaching materials and aids in the fields of manipulation, playing house, math, language, piling up, major muscle and water sand. And the teachers from the special education institutes considered their institutes to own more teaching materials and aids in the area of music and computer. In light of quantity, the former institutes were in possession of more teaching materials and aids, but given the number of young children per class, the latter group was equipped with a larger amount of teaching materials and aids than the former one. Second, concerning the actual presentation of teaching materials and aids, the regular education institutes provided an abundance of materials and aids in the fields of manipulation, molding, playing house, language and computer, but not in the areas of music, science, woodwork and water sand. On the contrary, the special education institutes offered plenty of teaching materials and aids in the areas of music and major muscle, but not in the fields of molding, playing house, language, science and computer. Third, as for indoor space utilization in terms of size, arrangement, convenience and responsive setting, the special education institutes didn't secure sufficient spaces, compared to the regular ones, and the former group also failed to arrange them properly in consideration of the diverse interest and needs of young children with disabilities.
