국문 초록

이 연구는 전통적인 수학교육에 대한 대안으로서의 현실적 수학교육이 학습장애학생의 수학교육에 지니는 함의를 탐색해보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 Freudenthal의 ‘수학화 학습.지도이론을 수학교육으로 구현한 ‘현실적 수학교육’을 개괄하고, 현실적 수학교육이 학습장애학생의 수학교육에 어떠한 의미를 갖는지 논의하였다. 현실적 수학교육에서는 현실이 수학개념을 구성하게 하는 원천이자 수학개념의 적용대상이 되고, 학습자는 자신의 활동을 통해 학습과정에 적극적으로 기여하며, 학습자들 사이에는 활발한 상호작용이 존재하게 된다. 이러한 현실적 수학교육은 학습장애학생의 수학교육에 다음과 같은 함의를 제공하고 있다. 첫째, 학습장애학생들의 수학학습에 대한 동기를 끌어올릴 수 있다. 둘째, 학습과정에서 주인의식을 갖게됨으로써, 학습장애학생을 능동적인 학습자로 만드는데 도움이 될 것이다. 셋째, 조력자로서의 교사의 역할이 오히려 강조되어, 구체적인 교수를 필요로 하는 학습장애학생들의 인지적 부담을 덜어줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study is to explore the implication of realistic mathematics education on the mathematics education for students with learning disabilities. To serve the purpose, realistic mathematics education which embodied Freudenthal’s mathematising instruction theory are outlined and discussed. In realistic mathematics education, reality is both the source for mathematics education and the object of its application. Learners positively contribute to learning process through their own activity, and there is an active interaction among learners. Realistic mathematics education have several implications for students with learning disabilities as follows：first, students with learning disabilities will be motivated; second, it is helpful for them to be positive learners, since they come to have ownership for their learning process; third, in realistic mathematics education, teachers as helpers play a critical role more than ever, consequently, students with learning disabilities who may need concrete instruction will be free from the cognitive burden.
