국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 디지털 전환시대에 나타나는 음악교육의 패러다임의 변화와 음악교육 환경을 알아본 후, 디지털 도구의 발달에 따른 한국과 미국의 음악교육과정과 정책을 비교하여, 21세기 한국의 음악교육이 나아가야할 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 한국의 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정의 디지털 리터러시가 어떤 방식으로 구성되어있는지를 분석하고, 이를 미국의 연방정부 차원의 디지털 전환에 관련된 여러 음악교육 관련 정책들과 비교하여 현재 디지털 전환시대의 한국 음악교육의 정책적 과제와 나아갈 방향을 도출하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국의 디지털 전환시대의 음악교육의 성공을 위해서는 미국의 오바마 정부에서 시작된 ESSA의 '전인적 교육(well-rounded education)'과 같은 법적⋅재정적 정책이 반드시 필요하다. 둘째, 디지털 전환시대의 디지털 역량 격차와 학교 현장의 인프라에 대한 불균형을 해소하기 위해 미국과 같이 지역 맞춤형 기술기반 음악교육모델을 운영하는 것이 필요하다. 셋째, 학년군별 성취기준에 AI를 비롯한 DAW, 디지털 작곡도구, 음향 디자인 등, 디지털 도구에 대한 사용을 구체적으로 포함시켜 학생들의 ‘디지털 리터러시’ 역량을 강화할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 교사 전문성 신장을 위한 지속적 연수 시스템 구축이 시급하다.

영문 초록

This study explores the paradigm shift and evolving landscape of music education in the digital transformation era, aiming to propose future directions for Korean music education by comparing curricula and policies between South Korea and the United States. It first analyzes how digital literacy is embedded in Korea’s 2022 revised music curriculum, then contrasts it with U.S. federal music education policies related to digital innovation. Through this comparison, key policy challenges and future strategies are identified for Korea. The results are as follows. First, for successful advancement of music education in Korea during the digital transformation era, legal and financial policies such as the "well-rounded education" approach introduced under the Obama administration's Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in the U.S. are essential. Second, in order to address the digital divide and infrastructure disparities in schools, Korea should implement regionally customized technology-based music education models, similar to those in the United States. Third, achievement standards by grade level should explicitly incorporate the use of digital tools such as AI, DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), digital composition tools, and sound design platforms to strengthen students’ digital literacy. Fourth, it is urgent to establish a continuous professional development system for enhancing teachers’ digital competencies.
