외국의 초등 저학년 음악 관련 교육과정 및 교과서 내 창작 내용 분석 - 미국, 독일, 영국, 일본을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

2022 개정 통합교과 ‘즐거운 생활’에서 음악 내용의 제시 방식과 상급학년 음악 교과와의 연계성에 대한 문제점을 인식하고, 이에 대한 개선 방향을 국제적 관점에서 모색하고자 미국, 독일 브레멘 주, 영국, 일본 등 외국 초등 저학년 음악 교육과정 및 교과서 내용을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 네 국가 모두 초등 저학년에서 기초적인 음악 지식과 기능 습득을 위한 학습활동 중심으로 교육과정과 교과서가 구성되어 있으며, 창작 영역 분석을 통해 학년이 올라갈수록 음악 학습 내용이 점진적으로 심화되는 연계성이 확인되었다. 각국의 음악 교육과정과 초등 저학년 음악 교과서를 살펴보면, 통합 혹은 독립 형태와 관계없이 교육과정 차원에서 음악 교육의 중요성이 강조되고 실현되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이는 우리나라 저학년 교육과정에서도 음악의 고유성과 독립성을 존중하는 한편, 유연한 통합적 접근을 반영한 교육과정 및 교과서 내용 구성의 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify issues in the presentation of music content within 'Enjoyable Life' subject of the 2022 Revised Integrated Curriculum and its linkage with upper-grade music education. To propose directions for improvement from an international perspective, the music curricula and textbooks for lower elementary grades in the United States, Bremen (Germany), the United Kingdom, and Japan were analyzed. The results show that in all four countries, the curricula and textbooks for early grades focus on learning activities aimed at acquiring basic musical knowledge and skills. Analysis of the creative domain revealed a progressive deepening of music learning content as grade levels increase. Regardless of whether music is taught in an integrated or independent format, the curricula of these countries emphasize and implement the importance of music education. These findings suggest that Korea’s lower-grade curriculum should also respect the uniqueness and independence of music education while reflecting a flexible, integrated approach in both curriculum design and textbook content.
