국문 초록

본 연구는 3세 유아들이 놀이 안에서 어떠한 상호작용을 하며 우정 관계를 시작하고, 시간 이 지남에 따라 우정이 어떻게 변화하는지를 질적사례연구를 통해 탐색하는 데 목적을 두 었다. 연구참여자는 서울시 K유치원 3세 하늘반 남아 4명이며, 연구자는 담임 교사로서 2024년 3월부터 11월까지 약 8개월간 참여관찰과 면담을 통해 자료를 수집했다. 연구 결 과, 하늘반 유아들의 우정은 즉각적인 공감대, 맹목적인 애정, 범람하는 재미와 같은 정서 적 경험을 계기로 시작되었고, 이후 시간이 지남에 따라 우정은 안정성, 구속성, 유연성과 같은 특징을 드러내며 변화하는 양상을 보였다. 이처럼 하늘반 3세 유아는 친구와 함께 감 정을 공유하고, 상호작용을 하며 깊이 있는 정서적 유대감을 만들어갔다. 본 연구는 3세 유 아 또한 또래와의 관계 속에서 의미 있는 우정을 형성하고 지속할 수 있는 사회적 존재임을 보여주었으며, 유아기 초기 친구 관계를 이해하고 교육적으로 지원하는데 기초자료를 제공 한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This qualitative case study explored the emergence and develop,ent of friendships among three-year-old children during play. The participants were four boys in the “Sky” class of K Public Kindergarten in Seoul. Serving as their homeroom teacher, the researcher collected data through participant observation and interviews over an eight-month period (March November 2024). Findings indicate that the children’s friendships began with emotionally charged experiences—immediate shared interests, unreserved affection, and overflowing fun— and subsequently developed into three distinct trajectories: stability, exclusivity, and flexibility. Throughout this process, the three-year-olds engaged in shared play and exchanged emotions, engaged in rich interactions, and forged deep emotional bonds. The finding demonstrates that even at age three, children are capable of forming and sustaining meaningful friendships within their peer group. By illuminating the early dynamics of friendship formation, the research provides foundational insights for educators seeking to understand and support positive peer relationships in early childhood settings.
