제주 방언 교육 연구의 현황과 과제

국문 초록

이 연구는 제주 방언 교육 연구의 현황을 분석하고, 몇 가지 과제를 제언하는 것이다. 우선 RISS(학술연구정보서비스)에서 제주 방언 교육과 관련된 모든 논문을 찾아 정리하였고, 각 논문의 검토를 통해 연구 현황을 전반적으로 살펴보았다. 이후 제주 방언 교육 분야에서 향후 수행해야 할 연구 과제를 양적 과제와 질적 과제로 나누어 제시하였다. 제주 방언 교육 연구의 현황을 보면, 주제별로 교육 내용 15편(학교 교육 7편, 이주민 교육 8편), 교육 정책 1편의 논문이 확인되었으며, 유형별로 학위논문 3편, 학술논문 13편의 논문이 확인되었다. 이상 16편에 해당하는 모든 논문을 정리하였고, 논의된 내용을 구체적으로 검토하였다. 나아가 이를 토대로 제주 방언 교육 연구의 과제를 제언해 보았다. 연구 과제는 크게 양적 과제와 질적 과제로 나뉜다. 양적 과제의 경우 절대적인 연구의 양이 부족함을 언급하였다. 물론 타 지역과 비교하였을 때, 상대적인 연구의 양이 적은 편은 아니었다. 다만 2000년대 이후 총 292편의 제주 방언 논문이 발표된 것에 비해, 교육에 관한 논문은 16편에 그쳤다. 즉 전체 논문의 5.48%만 제주 방언 교육에 관한 논문이며, 이는 절대적인 연구의 양이 부족함을 방증한다. 질적 과제의 경우 몇 가지 주제를 제안하였다. 기존 연구에서는 일반인 및 강사 교육, 교재 개발, 교육 정책에 대한 논의가 부족하다는 점을 확인하였고, 이와 관련된 연구의 필요성을 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of Jeju dialect education research and suggest several tasks. First, all papers related to Jeju dialect education were searched, organized, and reviewed at RISS. Second, the research tasks in the field of Jeju dialect education were divided into quantitative and qualitative tasks. Looking at the current status of Jeju dialect education research, 7 papers on school education, 8 papers on immigrant education, and 1 paper on education policy were identified by topic. In addition, 3 papers on degree thesis and 13 papers on academic thesis were identified by type. All papers corresponding to the above 16 articles were reviewed and the contents discussed were described in detail. Furthermore, based on this, we suggest tasks for research on Jeju dialect education. Research tasks are divided into quantitative and qualitative tasks. For quantitative tasks, it was pointed out that the absolute amount of research was insufficient. Of course, compared to other regions, the relative amount of research was not small. However, while a total of 292 papers on Jeju dialect have been published since 2000, only 16 papers on education have been published. This accounts for only 5.48% of all papers, which means that the absolute amount of research is insufficient. For qualitative tasks, several topics were proposed. Previous studies have identified a lack of discussion on general & lecturer education, teaching materials, and educational policies, and the need for research in this regard has been discussed.
