디지털 기반 음악 수업에 대한 실태 및 인식 조사: 서울 지역 고등학생을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 서울 지역 고등학생을 대상으로 음악 관련 디지털 도구 활용을 중심으로 한 디지털 기반 음악 수업의실태와 이에 대한 인식을 알아보는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울시 5개 고등학교 학생 200명을 대상으로 설문 조사를하였으며, 빈도분석, 기술통계 및 독립표본 t검정(t-test)을 통해 도출된 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악 수업의 연주영역에서는 약 과반수에 해당하는 학생들이 매주 또는 2주에 1~2번과 같이 잦은 빈도로 디지털 도구를 접하고 있었으며 연주영역에서 활용 경험이 없는 학생은 4%에 불과한 반면, 창작 영역에서는 약 27%, 감상 영역에서는 약 41% 학생들이 디지털도구 활용 경험이 없어 창작과 감상 영역에서의 활용 빈도는 상대적으로 낮았다. 둘째, 학생들은 음악 관련 디지털 도구를통해 연주 활동에 쉽게 접근하여 흥미와 능력을 향상할 수 있었고, 음악 특징 파악 및 다양한 음악적 경험과 창의적인 참여가가능했다는 점에서 디지털 기반 음악 수업의 효과성을 대체로 높게 인식하였다. 또한, 연주 및 창작 영역에서는 일상에서디지털 도구를 경험한 학생들이 디지털 기반 음악 수업의 효과성을 유의미하게 높게 인식하였다. 셋째, 87.5%에 해당하는 학생은 디지털 기반 음악 수업이 음악 활동에 보다 쉽게 참여하게 하고, 음악 능력과 창의성 향상에 기여한다는 점에서 그 중요성을 높게 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 논의된 결과를 바탕으로 학생들의 능동적 참여가 가능하며 음악 교과의 각 영역 특징에맞는 디지털 도구의 개발, 디지털 기반 음악 수업 설계 시 활동 특성에 따른 학생들의 사전 경험을 고려한 차별화된 접근, 교사 대상의 디지털 도구 활용 역량 강화 연수 및 수업 설계 지원 자료 개발의 필요성을 제시하였다. 또한, 디지털 도구 활용의 장기적 효과와 구체적인 학습 성과를 측정하는 후속 연구가 필요함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The study investigates the current status of digital-based music instruction and students’ perceptions of its effectiveness, focusing on the use of music-related digital tools among high school students in Seoul. A total of 200 students from five high schools in different districts of Seoul participated in the survey. The collected data were analyzed using fre- quency analysis, descriptive statistics, and independent samples t-tests. The findings are as follows. First, in the performance domain, approximately half of the students reported frequent exposure to digital tools (weekly or biweekly) with only 4% hav- ing no experience. Meanwhile, the utilization of digital tools was less prevalent in the composition and listening domains, with 27% and 41% reporting no experience with digital tools, suggesting relatively limited use in those areas. Second, students generally perceived digital-based music classes as effective, noting that digital tools made performance activities more acces- sible, increased interest and musical abilities, enhanced understanding of musical elements, and encouraged creative engage- ment. Notably, students with prior experience using digital tools in daily life perceived the effectiveness of digital-based music classes significantly higher both in the performance and composition domains. Third, 87.5% of students recognized the impor- tance of digital-based music instruction, emphasizing its role in promoting participation and enhancing musical skills and cre- ativity. Based on these findings, this study highlights the need to develop digital tools tailored to the specific characteristics of each music domain, implement differentiated instructional strategies based on students’ prior experiences, and provide teacher training and instructional support materials. Furthermore, it recommends future research to assess the long-term effects of dig- ital tool use and objectively evaluate learning outcomes in digital-based music education.
