국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 통합사례관리 현장에서 이루어지는 종결의 다양한 양상을 파악하고 그 맥락과 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 통합사례관리사 17명을 대상으로 한 포커스그룹 인터뷰 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 사례관리현장에는 의미있는 종결 뿐 아니라 불가피한 종결이 함께 존재하고 있었다. 연구참여자들은 클라이언트와 합의한 목표의 달성, 클라이언트의 역량 강화, 사회적 지지체계 형성, 위기 해소와 안전 확보 등이 확인될 때 종결하는 것이 바람직하다고 인식하고 있었다. 클라이언트 거부나 비협조적인 태도, 불가능하거나 무의미한 개입이라고 판단되는 상황에서는 불가피하게 종결하기도 하였다. 종결에 영향을 미치는 요인들은 모호한 평가 기준, 슈퍼비전으로 인한 갈등, 사례와 무관한 행정적인 종결의 적용, 안심할 수 있는 사후관리 체계 여부로 파악되었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 보다 의미있는 사례관리 종결이 이루어지는데 필요한 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the various aspects of case closure in the field of integrated case management and to explore the contexts and meanings of these closures. To achieve this objective, focus group interviews were conducted with 17 integrated case managers, and the collected data were analyzed. The analysis revealed that both meaningful closures and inevitable closures coexist in case management practice. The study participants perceived that case closure is desirable when key factors such as the achievement of agreed-upon goals with the client, client empowerment, establishment of a social support system, crisis resolution, and ensuring safety are confirmed. However, inevitable closures occurred in cases where clients refused services, displayed uncooperative attitudes, or when interventions were deemed impossible or meaningless. Factors influencing case closure included ambiguous evaluation criteria, conflicts arising from supervision, administrative closures unrelated to the actual case, and the presence or absence of a reliable follow-up system. Based on the study findings, recommendations were provided to facilitate more meaningful case closures in integrated case management.
