중도장애 여성의 삶의 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 중도장애 여성의 장애발생 이전과 이후 삶의 경험에 관한 본질을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 중도장애 여성의 삶의 체험과 관련하여 일상생활 및 사회관계 속에서 장애를 어떻게 경험하고 있는지에 대해 초점을 두고 그들의 주관적 경험과 내적 의미를 탐구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 5명의 중도장애 여성을 연구참여자로 선정하여 심층면접을 실시하였고, Giorgi(1985)의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 이들의 삶의 경험에 대한 88개의 의미 단위 중에서 맥락에서 벗어나거나 중복된 단위들을 제외한 25개의 중심의미를 통해 9개의 드러난 주제를 발견했고, 4개의 본질적 주제를 도출하였다. 본질적 주제는 ‘갑작스럽게 변화된 삶’, ‘사회속의 차별과 배제’, ‘여성과 장애로 인한 이중부담’, ‘행복한 삶을 위한 노력’으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 중도장애 여성의 삶에 대한 통합적이고, 체계적인 접근을 위한 앞으로의 과제에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the essence of the life experiences of women with acquired disabilities before and after the onset of their disability. In particular, this study focuses on how they experience disability in their daily lives and social relationships and seeks to explore their subjective experiences and introspective meanings. To this end, five women with severe disabilities were selected as research participants. In-depth interviews were conducted, and the analysis was conducted using Giorgi's (1985) phenomenological research method. The research found nine themes through 25 central meanings, excluding 88 meaning units of their life experiences that were irrelevant or redundant in context, and four essential topics. The main topics were “sudden life changes,” “discrimination and exclusion in society,” “double burden caused by gender and disability,” and “fforts for a happy life.” Based on these findings, the future tasks for an integrated and systematic approach to the lives of women with acquired disabilities were discussed.
