초등학교 교사의 교육과정의 통합적 운영에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육과정의 통합적 운영을 통해 연구 참여자의 교육과정 실천가로서 교육과정 운영에 대한 인식 및 태도 변화과정을 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 교육과정의 통합적 운영을 위해 초등학교 6학년 2학기의 과학, 수학, 국어 사회 등 4개 교과를 대상으로 2004년 5월부터 통합단원을 설계하여 2004년 10월 24일부터 2004년 12월 10일까지 약 6주간 동안 1 초등학교 6학년 17명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 교육과정의 통합적 운영에 있어 연구 참여자의 변화과정을 살펴보면 첫째, 교육과정 일정의 변경과 진도 맞추기로 인한 갈등, 둘째, 학교관리자 및 학교 구성원의 이해를 구하기, 셋째, 전통적인 수업 모습과 통합 수업 모습 사이에서의 불안감, 넷째, 실생활과의 연계를 통한 통합적 안목의 신장 등으로 요약된다. 교육과정의 통합적 운영 방안은 교육과정 실천가로서 교사의 역할 정립에 기여하였으며, 경직된 학교수업 문화를 긍정적으로 형성하는데 시사점을 제공해주었다. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of an elementary school teacher's attitude curriculum integration conducted by the research participant as a curriculum practitioner. In doing so, this researcher and the research participant designed the theme-based interdisciplinary unit which is purposefully integrated into four subject areas; science, mathematics, language arts, and social studies in the 6th grade, and implemented the curriculum for six weeks. The qualitative data were mainly collected by interviewing the research participant, classroom videotaping, the participant's field notes, and observations. The analysis of the data collected was done by two standpoints; a process of action research done by the research participant and the content of reflective ethnographic interview with him. The changes of research participant's attitude toward the curriculum integration as a way of curriculum restructuring were as follows: First, the research participant experienced dissonance caused by the changes of curriculum schedule. Second, asking school administrators' understandings of curriculum integration was a stumbling block that the research participant had to go through with. Third, the research participant felt uneasiness between the traditional classroom and the integrated classroom. Fourth, The research participant's paradigm toward learning and instruction had changed.
